The purpose of this procedure is to regulate recognition at the level of the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) of the quality of doctoral supervisor, with a view to affiliation with the doctoral schools within IOSUD-UVT.
Recognition of doctoral supervisor qualification obtained abroad is carried out based on the Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5921/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the automatic recognition, by the institutions of higher education, respectively the institutions organizing university doctoral studies in Romania, of the quality of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited university education institutions abroad.
(1) The quality of doctoral supervisor or qualification obtained in accredited institutions of university education in member states of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, in the Swiss Confederation and in prestigious universities in other states provided in the List of prestigious universities in other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated, it is automatically recognized by the UVT.
(2) The quality of doctoral supervisor or the qualification obtained at other accredited university education institutions from abroad than those mentioned in para. (1) is recognized only on the basis of an international convention of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.
(3) The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation and citizens of third countries.

Required documents
- Application for recognition; (Appendix 1)
- Copy of the identity document and proof of name change (if applicable);
- Copy of the doctor's degree together with:
- legalized translation if the degree certificate is obtained in Romania or in the educational institutions mentioned in (1)
- legalized translation, respectively the recognition certificate issued by CNRED if the study certificate is obtained at other accredited educational institutions abroad;
- Copy of the diploma/certificate and legalized translation in Romanian certifying the quality of doctoral supervisor or the qualification issued by the institutions provided for in (1) and (2)
- Curriculum Vitae in Romanian or English
Document release
The evaluation committee will prepare an evaluation report which contains the solution regarding the request for recognition. The deadline for resolving the request for recognition is 10 working days from the date of submission of the file to the Office of Doctoral Studies within the UVT (Appendix 3)
Duplicate release
In case of loss, destruction or damage of the recognition decision, UVT issues, upon request, a duplicate thereof.
Horses of attack
The decision issued by the UVT can be appealed within 2 working days from its transmission to the applicant. The report of the Appeals Commission is final.

This procedure regulates the automatic recognition at the level of the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) of teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited university education institutions abroad, for the purpose of filling a vacant teaching position within UVT, of participating in the competition commissions for the occupation of teaching positions and of research within the UVT, etc.
The provisions of this procedure apply Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation and citizens of third countries.
"Art. 4. UVT is an accredited higher education institution according to the legal norms and, in this capacity, automatically recognizes teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited university education institutions in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and in prestigious universities from other states included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and periodically updated."
"Art. 5. Teaching positions obtained at other accredited university education institutions than those mentioned in art. 4., are recognized only on the basis of an international convention of mutual recognition, concluded at the intergovernmental or interuniversity level."

The commission that evaluates the recognition file and that pronounces the solution regarding the request for recognition, hereinafter referred to as the evaluation commission, is made up of 3 members: 1 tenured teaching staff from the teaching department similar to the applicant's specialization, the Dean of the faculty and 1 representative of the Center of UVT's Information and Documentation Resources. The tenured teaching staff, member of the Evaluation Commission, will be appointed by the Dean, with the approval of the Faculty Council." The submission of the file for the recognition of teaching functions can be done by two methods:

- Doctoral degree:
- if the degree certificate is obtained in Romania: copy after the original document;
- if the study certificate is obtained at accredited institutions of higher education abroad: copy after the recognition decision issued by UVT of the doctor's diploma or the recognition certificate issued by CNRED
- Proof of teaching position issued by the institutions provided for in articles 4 and 5
Document release
Evaluation committee will draw up an Evaluation Report containing the solution regarding the request for recognition. The deadline for resolving the request for recognition is 5 working days from the date of submission of the file on the PCUe platform
Duplicate release
In case of loss, destruction or damage of the recognition decision, UVT issues, upon request, a duplicate thereof.

The decision of the UVT management can be appealed within 3 working days of its receipt by the applicant.

The purpose of this procedure is to regulate the recognition at the level of the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) of the doctor's degree and the doctor's degree in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad, for the purpose of enrolling in postgraduate programs, obtaining qualification, holding a position didactic or research within UVT.
The recognition of the doctor's degree and the doctor's degree in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad is carried out on the basis of the Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5923/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the recognition of the doctoral degree and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad.
The study documents subject to recognition are authenticated with the Hague Apostille for the states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, and for the other states the study documents are superlegalized or accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin.
The commission that evaluates the recognition file and that pronounces the solution regarding the request for recognition, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Commission, includes in its structure 5 members: the director of the doctoral school in the field of the thesis submitted for recognition, a member of the doctoral school, specialized in the field of the doctoral thesis , the head secretary of UVT, a representative of the Office of Doctoral Studies, a representative of the Information and Documentation Resource Center of UVT. The representatives of the doctoral school and the Office of Doctoral Studies are appointed by Decision of the CSUD Director (Appendix 2). In the situation where the recognition of the doctor's diploma and the doctor's title is requested in a field in which it is not part of the IOSUD-UVT, the CSUD will propose a commission that can include members from other IOSUD and which can have a distinct structure of the one mentioned.
