It is a manual of European legislation in English, regarding data protection, it is drawn up through the cooperation between the Agency for Fundamental Rights of the European Union (FRA) and the Council of Europe together with the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights, the 2018 edition compared to the previous manual published in 2014.

UVT is the largest university in the west of the country, a diverse and multicultural academic environment. The University of the West was established in 1944 by Decree Law no. 660 given by King Mihai I, published in the Official Gazette no. 302 of December 30, 1944, with the faculties of Law, Letters and Philosophy, Sciences, Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy and Theology.
The UVT structure includes: 11 faculties, offering 75 bachelor's degree programs and over 90 master's degree programs from 34 different fields of study, as well as doctoral studies in 22 fields, alongside the new master's program didactic, organized in the five different fields of undergraduate studies.
With 27 advanced research centers, UVT generates and transfers knowledge to society through scientific research, development, innovation and technology transfer.
UVT has 8 dormitories, offering accommodation for 3000 students.
The processing of personal data by the UVT data operator is carried out by:

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. any data related to an attribute that leads to the direct or indirect identification of a person is personal data.
UVT processes your personal data in order to achieve the main mission of the university, namely education and advanced research, in the sense of initiating and conducting legal relationships between the data subject and UVT.
UVT processes personal data for the general purpose of guaranteeing the proper conduct of its academic, administrative, scientific and social activities, in accordance with its mission and with applicable legislation in the field of education and data protection.
The data is processed for the purpose of concluding and executing any type of contract to which UVT is a party to, the fulfillment of legal obligations and in the legitimate interest of the University and all categories of persons.
Any processing of personal data may only be carried out if at least one of the following conditions is met:
- There is the consent of the data subject
- Fulfilling a legal obligations
- Protection of vital interests of the data subject
- Accomplishing a task which serves a public interest
- Protection of legitimate interests tracked by the operator or a third party

Personal data for which national and international legislation provides for a retention period will be stored in accordance with legal provisions.
For other types of data, according to the UVT Archival Nomenclature, the general retention period is 2 years. Data retention will be done in compliance with the rights of the data subjects. The data subject has the right to request the deletion of personal data.
You can submit a written request whenever you wish to exercise your rights regarding the protection of your personal data (under Articles 13-22 of the GDPR).
