Between November 1-6, 2025, applications can be submitted for the positions of student representatives in: the Faculty Council, the Doctoral School Councils, the University Senate and the Council for Doctoral University Studies, for the 2025-2026 term.
If you also want to hold one of the student representative positions in the aforementioned structures and get involved in making decisions for your colleagues, you must send an email to alegeri@osut.ro, with the following documents:
- CV;
- Letter of intent;
- Declaration of political non-affiliation signed by the candidate (digitally or physically).
Faculty Council represents the decision-making forum of each faculty, where students represent a minimum of 25% of the total members. The number of students represented in the faculty council, depending on the faculty, is as follows:
- Faculty of Arts and Design: 4 student representatives;
- Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography: 5 representative students;
- Faculty of Law: 3 student representatives;
- Faculty of Economics and Business Administration: 7 representative students;
- Faculty of Physical Education and Sport: 3 representative students;
- Faculty of Physics and Mathematics: 5 student representatives;
- Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology: 5 representative students;
- Faculty of Informatics: 3 student representatives;
- Faculty of Music and Theatre: 4 student representatives;
- Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences: 4 student representatives;
- Faculty of Sociology and Social Work: 3 student representatives;
- Faculty of Government and Communication Sciences: 4 representative students.
University Senate is the supreme decision-making body of the university. Students represent 25% of the total membership. In the Senate there are:
- a place for the student representative of each faculty;
- a student representative from OSUT;
- a student representative of Romanian students from the diaspora and international students;
- a student representative of the doctoral students.
Each student enrolled at UVT can vote for only one student for each category exemplified above, regardless of the faculty they belong to. In this way, the students represented in the Senate reflect the interests of all faculties at the university level, even if each senator comes from a specific faculty or represents a category of students.
Council for Doctoral University Studies (CSUD) is the decision-making forum at the doctoral school level, subordinated to the UVT Senate. Within the CSUD there are three positions for student representatives. Elections for these positions are made by all UVT doctoral students.
Doctoral School Council ensures, under the coordination of its director, the operational management of the doctoral school, in accordance with the institutional regulation for the organization and conduct of university doctoral studies. Within each CSD, doctoral students are represented by at least 20% of the total number of members.

According to the Regulation for the election of student representatives at UVT, the term of office of a student representative is 1 year, with the right to be re-elected at the end of a previous term. At the same time, a student cannot hold the status of student representative in decision-making structures (faculty council, university senate, board of directors) of the same higher education institution for more than 5 years, regardless of the period in which the mandates were held and their interruptions, with the exception of the mandates of representation in the Doctoral School Council and the University Doctoral Studies Council, which are regulated by the charter.
The calendar for electing student representatives to the faculty councils, the UVT Senate, the Doctoral School Councils and the Council for Doctoral University Studies is as follows:

Special rules for students enrolled in two study programs:
- If the study programs belong to the same faculty, the student can vote only once for the Faculty Council.
- If the study programs are part of different faculties, the student can vote for the representatives of each faculty in the Faculty Council, but can only vote once for the University Senate for each category.
The online elections will take place on November 12, between 09:00 and 19:00. Students will receive a link to the voting platform and all the necessary information on the morning of the elections at their institutional address.
