Evaluation of teaching staff by students – first semester – academic year 2024-2025 (stage 3)

In accordance with The methodology for conducting the evaluation process of teaching staff by students at the West University of Timișoara (UVT)), starting this semester, the process of evaluating teachers by students will take place every semester in 3 stages, so:

- the first evaluation stage took place in weeks 7-8 of this semester (between November 14-24, 2024) and concerned the teaching activity carried out in the first half of the semester; the results were made available to teachers immediately after the end of the evaluation period (starting with the 9th week of the semester, on 25.11.2024), in the form of a general report containing the average grades obtained for each question following the student evaluations and the answers to the open questions, without mentioning their authors;

- The second evaluation stage took place in weeks 13-14 of this semester, at the beginning of January 2025, and targeted the teaching activity carried out throughout the semester., and the results will be made available to teachers at the beginning of the second week of the second semester of this academic year;

- the third stage of evaluation will take place after the end of session B related to each semester, aiming at the way in which the evaluation of the way in which the learning outcomes were acquired by students throughout the semester and in the exam session was carried out, and the results will be made available to teachers at the beginning of the second week of the second semester of this academic year.

Thus, the period of the third stage of the evaluation process of teaching staff by students this semester this February 24 – March 2, 2025.

The evaluation of teachers by students will be done through the platform evaluation.uvt.ro, students logging in with their institutional account details @e-uvt.ro.

Until March 2, 2025, 23:59 p.m, students have the opportunity to provide feedback on the way in which they were evaluated by teachers throughout the semester and during the exam session, in all teaching activities (courses, seminars or laboratories).

Even though students authenticate on the platform with their email address and password, the evaluation of teachers by students is 100% anonymous, the answers being encrypted in such a way that the authors cannot be identified, so we encourage students to answer all the questions in the questionnaire as honestly as possible.

For each teaching activity they were evaluated on this semester, students have to complete a single feedback questionnaire, which contains 10 closed questions and 3 open questions – 2 mandatory and one optional.

The third stage of evaluation plays an essential role in the process of ensuring the quality of education, offering students the opportunity to provide detailed feedback on how the process of evaluating the learning outcomes acquired by them during the semester and in the exam session was carried out and the efficiency of the evaluation methods proposed by the teachers.

The evaluation process remains complex, in order to collect in-depth feedback from students, as well as to ensure that it has a relevant impact in adapting educational strategies, improving didactic interaction and increasing the relevance of assessment methods, thus leading to a more efficient and student-centered educational system, so we kindly ask you to allocate the necessary time to complete all questionnaires. responsibly. Each evaluation questionnaire for a teaching activity can be completed separately, with students not needing to complete all the questionnaires available on the platform at once, but being able to carry out this activity in stages, over several days.

We encourage students to conduct complete and as detailed evaluations as possible for all teaching activities they were evaluated on this semester, assuring them of the confidentiality of the information transmitted!
