DEMOCRACY IN UVT – Submission of candidacies for vacant positions – Faculty Councils, Doctoral School Councils and UVT Senate

The call was opened for filling the following positions of student representative, places that remained vacant after the elections in November, but also during the mandate for various reasons:

• a student representative in the Council of the Faculty of Arts and Design;
• a student representative in the Council of the Faculty of Music and Theatre;
• a student representative within the Council of the Doctoral School of Visual Arts;
• a student representative in the Council of the Doctoral School of Chemistry;
• a student representative within the Council of the Doctoral School of Geography;
• a student representative within the Council of the Doctoral School of Law;
• a student representative within the Council of the Doctoral School of Informatics;
• a student representative within the Council of the Doctoral School of Psychology;
• a student representative in the Council of the Doctoral School of Humanities;
• a student representative in the Council of the Doctoral School of Political Sciences, Philosophy, Sociology and Political Sciences;
• a student representative in the University Senate representative of doctoral students.

Applying for one of the vacancies listed above is done by sending the following documents: CV, cover letter and declaration of political non-affiliation to the address elegire@osut.ro.

According to the  Regulations for the election of student representatives, the mandate of a student representative is 1 academic year, he having the right to be re-elected at the end of a previous mandate. At the same time, in accordance with article 12 of the Student Rights and Obligations Code approved by Order of the Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sports no. 3666 of March 30, 2012, a student cannot be a representative in the decision-making structures of the Western University of Timișoara (Faculty Council, University Senate or Administrative Council) for more than 4 years, regardless of the periods in which they took place mandates and their interruptions.

For the election of student representatives, voting will take place in the following way:

• for the positions of student representatives in the faculty council, only students enrolled in the respective faculty will be able to vote;
• for the positions of student representatives in the Doctoral School Council, only doctoral students enrolled in the respective Doctoral School will be able to vote;
• all students of the West University of Timișoara will be able to vote for the position of student representative in the UVT Senate.
