A new and unusual cultural product is represented by the show "Awakening", which is an original project by musical theatre, transposed both in classical stage form and in cinematic manner. The cinematographic project represents an absolute first, both for UVT and for the Faculty of Music and Theater - being a pilot episode of the future musical performances performed by students and teachers - artists from FMT - UVT.
"Awakening" is a show of awakening and coming back to life after the isolation and loneliness of the pandemic period, after self-isolation in the virtual world. "Awakening" is performed by actors from the Romanian and German Acting classes.
The show has certain cathartic values, certified by the dramatic and persistent urge to rise from the "online vacuum" and "float" again in the world of living beings. At the same time, "Awakening" also invites us to the deep and painful meditation according to which the identification of the human being with virtual sources can trigger the phenomenon of loss and alienation of humanity from its own essence. The show reminds us that there is no life, no communication, no love, between the walls of the virtual world.
Being a musical theater show, we witness the happy and unique symbiosis between music, dance and theater, between vocal performance, poetry of movement and the art of the theater actor.
The cast is fully provided by the students of the Performing Arts specialization – Acting, Romanian and German, Faculty of Music and Theater from the West University of Timișoara.

The premiere of the show will take place on June 17, starting at 19 p.m, on the stage of the program "WePerform - Music and Theater Evenings", offered by FMT - UVT in Piața Unirii in Timișoara. Then, from June 18, the cinematographic version of the show will be able to be watched on the YouTube channel of UVT (https://www.youtube.com/c/uvtromania/videos).
