UVT supports performance in technology. A new remarkable result of the CSH robotics team, finalist at the largest FTC off-season robotics competition in Europe – “Bucharest Twin Cup 2025”

- Press release -

CSH Robotics Team of the "Carmen Sylva" National Pedagogical College in Timișoara, supported in partnership with West University of Timişoara (UVT), participated, between August 22–24, 2025, in the Bucharest Twin Cup (BTC) competition, held at the Romanian-American University of Bucharest. The event brought together 40 top national and international teams, including teams from Lithuania, Texas (USA) and South Africa, confirming BTC's status as the most important off-season FTC competition in Europe. BTC is held in a unique format: teams compete in pre-formed alliances of two, which allows for the development of innovative strategies and perfectly synchronized game mechanics.

In this edition, the CSH team formed an alliance with the RavenTech team from Hunedoara, under the name “SparkleRavens”. Together, the two teams impressed with their cohesion, adaptability and competitive spirit, managing to win eight of the nine qualifying matches and advance to the grand final of the competition.

In addition to the title of finalists, the “SparkleRavens” alliance also won a special award: “Strategy & Synergy – Teleop Award”. This distinction is given to the alliance that best integrates design, strategies and driving skills during the driver-controlled period. CSH and RavenTech demonstrated impeccable synchronization between the robots and the driving teams, quickly adapting to the dynamics of the matches and exploiting the strengths of both teams to the fullest.

Outstanding results of the "SparkleRavens" alliance at BTC 2025:

• 8/9 wins in qualifying matches;
• Competition finalists;
• Winners of the "Strategy & Synergy – Teleop Award"

On behalf of the West University of Timișoara, Prof. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, the rector of UVT, emphasizes: "Through these results, the CSH team once again confirms the level of excellence achieved in the field of educational robotics and its contribution to strengthening the image of Timișoara and Romania in international competitions. The talented young people in the CSH team are models of ambition and determination, and their results prove this exemplary path.”

Impressions from within the team, given shortly after the end of the final:

Răzvan Țînca, mentor of the CSH team and referee in the competition: "As a referee, I observed the performances of all the participating teams. I am impressed and satisfied with the achievements of our alliance, especially considering the high level of the other participating teams.”

Paul Caunii, peer mentor and coach of the CSH team: "CSH once again showed an outstanding performance in the field. The best autonomous sample period in the world was achieved three times, and the children led exemplary. I note the team spirit, maturity and good organization that the team had throughout the competition. Once again, the CSH team represented and made proud the school they represent, the city, the partners and sponsors who are with them, including UVT.”
