Faculty of Arts and Design from the West University of Timișoara (FAD UVT), in partnership with Romanian Cultural Institute in London, participates in the program "Open house london", one of the most prestigious architectural and cultural festivals in the capital of Great Britain. The proposed project comprises three components: the "Chasing Light" Exhibition, the book launch of the "Chasing Light" artists (FAD UVT alumni) and the "35 years of FAD UVT" Exhibition.

“Chasing Light” exhibition, curated by artists Mihai Zgondoiu and Bogdan Rață, brings together over 30 works of drawing, painting, sculpture, design objects, photography, comics and video art, made by graduates of FAD UVT. The opening will take place at the "Constantin Brâncuși" Gallery of the Romanian Cultural Institute, London, on September 9, 2025, from 19:00 p.m., in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, UVT, Prof. Dr. Diana Andreescu and the two curators. The general public will be invited to visit the exhibition until October 10, from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 16:00 p.m.

The project proposes a captivating visual exploration of light as a symbol of knowledge, inner search, clarity and artistic expression. Among the artists exhibiting are: Aura Bălănescu, Dinu Bodiciu, Mimi Ciora, Ciprian Ciuclea, Victor Drujiniu, Bogdan Matei, Andreea Medar, Antonio Meze, Laurian Popa, Mircea Popescu, Bogdan Rață, Cristian Sida, Miki Velciov, Victor Vulpe and Mihai Zgondoiu, all graduates of the acclaimed academic institution in Timisoara.

Artists' book launch “Chasing Light”, Alumni FAD UVTOn the occasion of the opening, a publication with the works and projects of the graduating artists, published by the internationally renowned publishing house, will be presented. Kerber BerlinThe volume highlights the artistic career and contribution of these artists to contemporary Romanian and European art.

Exhibition "35 years of FAD UVT" – a project carried out on the exterior walls of the ICR London building, where images will be presented regarding the history of the UVT Faculty of Arts and Design, marking the 35th anniversary of its re-establishment. The project is coordinated by graphic designers Cezara Carla Pădurean and Claudia Feti.
