Between August 20–27, 2025, the Romanian Institute for Culture and Humanistic Research in Venice (ICR Venice) hosts the fourth edition of the "Venetian Annual" project, a platform dedicated to promoting contemporary design and emerging artistic research.
This year's exhibition, entitled "3D - Design, Dimension, Dialogue", brings together a selection of works by students from the Design specialization at Faculty of Arts and Design of the West University of Timișoara, Department of Design and Applied Arts. The projects are selected by curators Eleonora Scarlat and Maria Moga and propose an interdisciplinary vision on the three major directions of contemporary design: environmental design, graphic design and product design.
The participation takes place in the context of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, a moment of maximum cultural visibility, in which the relationships between built space and socio-political structures are subject to intense international analysis. In this framework, the "3D" exhibition brings to the forefront how new generations of designers respond to current challenges and contribute to reimagining the relationship between man, object and environment.
The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Diana Andreescu, declares: "This exhibition is not just a presentation of student projects, but also becomes a testament to the artistic maturity and civic commitment of our young creators. We are honored to be present in Venice, in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute, at a time when international dialogue on design and architecture is more necessary than ever.”
The public is invited to the exhibition space of the Romanian Institute of Culture and Humanistic Research in Venice, at the opening on August 20, 2025, starting at 18 pm (Cannaregio 2211, Venice) and throughout the visiting period (August 20-27, 16-20 pm). The management team of the Faculty of Arts and Design of UVT would like to thank the ICR Venice team for their involvement, for their constant partnership and support for the promotion of Romanian art and design internationally. The presence of Timisoara artists at the Venice Architecture Biennale, representing the West University of Timisoara, is a special welcome opportunity, important for the international presentation of the works signed by UVT students on one of the most prestigious cultural stages in the world.
