In this admission session, the educational offer of the UVT is being added to a new university degree program, unique at the national level, proposed for the first time by us – Geoinformatics (included in the field of undergraduate university studies Applied Sciences and organized by the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography within UVT). The program has a tuition capacity of 50 places, of which 25 are financed from the state budget.
The mission of the Geoinformatics bachelor's degree program is to contribute to the quality training of students in key areas of great interest in the labor market and in accordance with its demands in the short, medium and long term and to train specialists in the field of geoinformatics. Geoinformaticians are distinguished by a comprehensive set of skills that cover not only the analysis and interpretation of geospatial data, but also interconnected fields. They have skills in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis and the creation of detailed thematic maps. Their skills in the manipulation of satellite data and other sources of geographic information are complemented by those in programming, including the use of languages such as Python or R, to develop and implement algorithms specific to geospatial data.
