Between September 1-8, 2024, the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) and the robotics team of the "Carmen Sylva" National Pedagogical College will organize the event "Open Robotics Intelligent Grid", now in its sixth edition.
The official opening of the event will take place Monday, September 2, 2024, in the Aula Magna of the West University of Timișoara. 21 teams made up of high school students passionate about robotics from all over the country will participate in the event. During the six days, young people will collaborate to build robots from scratch, starting from an unknown game theme until the beginning of the camp, and will participate in workshops organized by Nokia, Flex, Cowork Timișoara, the Student Entrepreneurial Society UVT and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science within UVT.
In addition to these activities, the participants will have the opportunity to participate in study visits within the companies Flex, Nokia and Hamilton, where they will be presented with the latest technologies in the field of robotics.
UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "Robotics is generating more and more passions among young people of all ages. The West University of Timișoara, together with the "Carmen Sylva" National Pedagogical College, is organizing the sixth edition of the most important annual national event organized in the west of the country, dedicated to the community of those passionate about robotics. In the first week of September, we invite you to watch a competition in which ingenuity and understanding of new technologies, but also the mobilization of teams and the spirit of fair play, take precedence. We invite all those who are passionate about spectacular demonstration exercises, offered by the best robotics teams in the country, to participate in the final of the competition."
On September 7, 2024, between 11.30:16.00 a.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., at Iulius Mall will take place the final competition of "Open Robotics Intelligent Grid". Demonstration matches will be held between robots built in less than a week. These matches will be played with four robots on the pitch, each performing different tasks to receive points. The Timișoara public is invited to watch the final competition, access being free.
We thank all the partners of the event for their involvement and openness: Flex, Nokia, Hamilton, Bosch, Eviden and Iulius Town.
