The 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings confirms the presence of UVT among the most prestigious universities in Romania
The 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings confirms the presence of UVT among the most prestigious universities in Romania and worldwide by being ranked in the top 1001-1200 at the international level under conditions in which 1300 universities were included in the top. The Western University of Timișoara, the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and the University of Bucharest are the universities that lead the platoon of Romanian universities included in the 2022 edition of the QS World University Ranking, being ranked in the top 1001-1200 worldwide. Eight other Romanian universities are included in the top on positions 1201-1300.
The 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings includes the following 11 universities from Romania: Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, West University in Timișoara, University of Bucharest, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași, "Lucian Blaga" University in Sibiu , "Ștefan cel Mare" University from Suceava, Cluj-Napoca Technical University, "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University from Iași, Transilvania University from Brașov, Polytechnic University from Bucharest, Polytechnic University Timișoara. It should be noted that of the 11 Romanian universities included in this ranking, 4 are members of the University Consortium.
The methodology used in the ranking of universities is specific to all the processes carried out by QS and includes the following performance indicators: academic reputation – 40%, reputation among employers – 10%, student/faculty ratio – 20%, citations/works ratio – 20 %, teachers from abroad - 5%, students from abroad - 5%.
The rector of UVT, prof. univ. dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The academic reputation, the good insertion of the graduates, but also the relevance of the scientific research, propel the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) to the podium of the first three Romanian universities, in the 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings. This result is part of the trend of increased visibility of the universities of excellence in Romania, a milestone that confirms the consecration of UVT as the most important and awarded comprehensive university in the west of the country".
