We are happy to announce that the program of the third edition of the Green Moon at UVT has been completed. The period 8 May - 7 June will bring together more than 50 events that bring to citizens and the academic community a series of initiatives and concepts associated with sustainable development. 

The events have been proposed by students, academic and administrative staff of the university and range from conferences to debates and workshops to outdoor sports activities, greening actions and sustainable picnics to name just a few of the surprises in store.

Pre-events: 

  1. The visit of students from the "Jean Louis Calderon" Theoretical High School to the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research, organized by Amelia Ile from the Laboratory of Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning within ICAM on April 24, 2024, where students had the opportunity to explore the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research. Class X, coordinated by Roxana Putan, was guided through a series of presentations of the institute's laboratories and research topics. Discussions included topics such as the Circular Economy and the importance of the social dimension in reducing food waste, highlighting concrete actions in this regard.
  2. Students from "Grigore Moisil" High School Timișoara explore art and sustainability in an educational visit to the Faculty of Arts and Design and the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research, organized by Alexandra Petcu from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer, together with the teachers Camelia Soporan and Tamara Pantea who coordinated the 1st and 4th grades in this educational visit from April 24 2024. At the Faculty of Arts and Design, students visited the workshops of painting, sculpture, drawing, graphics, animation, fashion and clothing design. They were fascinated by the animations presented and discovered how art can transform natural materials into captivating works. The visit to the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research focused on discussions about sustainability and environmental protection. Ways were explored in which each of us can contribute to the protection of nature, through small everyday actions, such as: waste reduction and recycling, selective collection and use of the guarantee-return system, selection of green transport methods (bicycle, scooter, walking) or public transport, reducing food waste and composting organic waste.

The actions within the "Green Month at UVT 2024" consist of:

  1. Me & You to Clean EU, organized by Alexandra Petcu and Andreea Balasan, from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer, with the help of Valentin Schwartz from the UVT Social Service, in partnership with "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School Timișoara, UNITA and OSUT. The event will take place in 9th May 2024 in the "Carmen Sylva" Park in the Bălcescu area, between 10-11:00 a.m. UVT students will team up with students of the "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School in Timișoara, and the purpose of this initiative is to clean and improve the appearance of the common spaces. The event is in its second edition, after a first iteration organized in 2022 at the level of the entire European university alliance UNITA – Universitas montium.
  2. STUDCONFEFS – Let's talk about research!, organized by Alexandru Boncu, Cosmin Strava, Ionuț Pîrjol, Ana Maria Vutan, Silvia Popescu, Oana Vuinov, Alina Lupu, Denisa Bălănean, Bogdan Hrițcu, Carla Puta and Nicolae Jurjiu from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. The event will take place in 10th May 2024, in the A32 amphitheater, between 09:00-16:00 and is addressed to both the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff) and civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). This conference is a traditional event proposed annually by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport where studies are presented by students, both within UVT and from other universities. The subjects of the studies are related to sport and health, and this year the organizers have also included a section held in the Urban Garden from 10:30-11:00, through which students can present ideas for research and development of the link between the environment and sport .
  3. Junior RoMedInf 2024, organized by Sebastian Ștefănigă from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics in partnership with RoHealth Cluster. The event will take place in 13-14-May 2024 at ICAM and is addressed to the academic environment, staff from the local/regional private environment and civil society. The aim of RoMedINF is to provide young researchers with an enabling environment to openly discuss ideas, hypotheses and solutions dedicated to health and healthy behaviour, and to present personal achievements in research or ongoing research.   4. UniSportVest, organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and is a student competition addressed to all members of the UVT community. This sporting event aims to promote health through movement. More information about the program and registration can be found here here.
  5. Analysis of the mountain landscape from the perspective of sustainable development, organized by Alexandru Onaca and Petru Urdea, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Department of Geography. The event will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and is addressed to FCBG students interested in mountain landscape analysis.
  6. The study of the sustainability of communities and the plain/desert landscape and the geographical analysis of major international metropolises – case study Budapest, organized by Ionuț Zisu and Claudia Doiciar, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Department of Geography. The event will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and aims to analyze the sustainability of human communities from the perspective of sustainable development in desert/plain regions and large urban metropolises, presenting case studies from the Csongrad region and Budapest.
  7. The study of human communities and the mountain landscape of the Banat Mountains, organized by Mircea Ardelean and Marian Potra Alexandra, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Department of Geography. The event will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and aims to analyze the sustainability of human communities from the perspective of sustainable development in the mountainous regions of the SW part of Romania.
  8. Cultural landscapes, urban landscapes and rural landscapes – the study of the sustainability of Romanian cultural heritage and heritage, organized by Nicolae Popa and Ramona Ivan, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Department of Geography. The event will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and aims to analyze the sustainability of cultural components in the Moldova Region.
  9. Exemplification of the different forms of sustainable urbanism applied in the process of urban planning and development of the city of Barcelona, organized by Sorina Voiculescu, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Department of Geography. The event will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and aims to analyze sustainable urban planning in the urban spaces of Barcelona. 
  10. Analysis of the cultural landscapes of the Municipality of Timișoara from the perspective of the sustainability of the urban space and environment, organized by Ioan Sebastian Jucu and Cristina Lupu, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Department of Geography. The event will take place in 13-17-May 2024 and aims to analyze the cultural landscape of the city of Timișoara. 
  11. The benefits of spending time in nature, organized by Laurentiu Tiru, ​​from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Department of Sociology. The event will take place in 13th May 2024, at Pădurea Verde, from 13:00 p.m. and is dedicated to students. This meeting will begin with a two-hour hike that will provide an opportunity to discuss the benefits of time spent in nature and physical activity. The workshop will continue with topics related to the importance of exercise in a natural environment and will include breathing and relaxation exercises to enrich the participants' experience. In addition, a spontaneous greening action will be organized: participants will receive garbage bags and gloves to clean up the area during the hike. Travel to the event location will be done by public transport, thus promoting sustainable behaviors and reducing the carbon footprint. 
  12. New European Bauhaus, organized by Ana Maria Neneciu, who is the NEB Contact Point within the Ministry of Culture, together with Diana Andreescu from the Faculty of Arts and Design. The event will take place in 14th May 2024, from 12:00-14:00, in the FAD Attic and is addressed to the academic environment, public administration staff, local/regional private staff and civil society. The New European Bauhaus is a newly launched European initiative, a creative and transdisciplinary movement in full swing, a dialogue between the worlds of science and technology and that of art and culture, and involves a complex collaborative effort between different sectors, including national governments, EU institutions , the construction industry, local communities, as well as design and architecture professionals.

The Ministry of Culture is the National Contact Point for the New European Bauhaus and aims to promote transformative solutions, which correspond to the values ​​of the New European Bauhaus, through a series of events and tools dedicated to this program. Thus, the creation of a community of practice is desired, as well as the development of an NEB Local Chapter.

The Conference About the New European Bauhaus, which will take place at UVT, is part of the Ministry of Culture's efforts to support the local cultural ecosystem in developing relevant projects for the NEB and to disseminate information about the opportunities that this program offers within the environment local university.

  1. The greenhouse effect and climate change, organized by Robert Blaga, from the Faculty of Physics. The event will take place in 14th May 2024, from 10:00 a.m., in Grădina Urbană UVT and is addressed to students, teachers and staff from pre-university education. The event aims to inform and raise awareness among the general public, especially young people, about the impact of climate change. The event will address topics such as the dynamics of ocean currents, the carbon dioxide cycle and how their variations influence the global climate. The effects of climate change, such as melting glaciers and rising sea levels, will also be assessed. The discussions will be animated by researchers from the Faculty of Physics - UVT and high school students, facilitating an exchange of ideas on the factors that influence climate change and their repercussions on the environment.
  2. Green, sustainable and innovative universities, organized by Alexandra Petcu, from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer, in partnership with the Department of International Relations UVT. The event will take place in 14th May 2024, between 09:30-11:00, in the Aula Magna amphitheater and is addressed to the academic environment, public administration staff, local/regional private staff and civil society. The event is part of Erasmus International Staff Week, an annual event organized by DRI UVT.
  3. InfoDay@FMI-UVT, organized by Sebastian Ștefănigă, from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science in partnership with re:solved, entrepreneur incubated at UVT within the Romania Start-Up Plus projects. The event will take place in 15th May 2024, from 09:00 in the UVT hall, and from 14:30 in the A11 amphitheater and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), local/regional private staff (entrepreneurs, SME employees, UVT partner companies). InfoDay@FMI-UVT is designed as a networking and recruitment hub, intended to facilitate connections between employers and students. The event is structured to promote meaningful and direct interactions between leading companies and potential candidates, from enthusiastic students to experienced graduates. The green component will be covered by addressing the topic of the impact of digital transformation on the environment.
  4. Training Continental AI4R&D Living Lab, organized by Andra Cenan-Glăvan, together with Alexandra Petcu and Sebastian Ștefănigă, from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer. The event will take place in 15th May 2024, between 09:00-13:00, at ICAM and is addressed to the Continental Automotive Romania community involved in the AI4R&D Living Lab.
  5. Women in Data Science, organized by Silvia Fierescu, from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences. The event will take place in 15th May 2024, from 09:00, at ICAM and is addressed to students, teaching staff, researchers and administrative staff.
  6. Demo course: Design Thinking in the Creative Industries, organized by Diana Andreescu, from the Faculty of Arts and Design in partnership with Adela Cristea Co-Founder & Facilitator DesignThinkers Academy Eastern Europe. The event will take place in 16th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment, pre-university environment and civil society. The course aims to provide professionals and enthusiasts in the creative industries with an introduction to Design Thinking with the aim of improving creative approaches and stimulating innovation. This two-hour event will cover the fundamental principles of Design Thinking and how they can be applied to solve complex problems in the creative field. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the creative process in an interactive environment, guided by experts in the field. The course will be held from 12:00, at the FAD UVT Attic, and is open to everyone interested in creative processes and innovation. Participation can represent a valuable investment in the personal and professional development of each participant.
  7. Pedal with the UVT family, organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in partnership with the Ro Bike Valley community. This outdoor activity is dedicated to the entire academic community of the West University of Timișoara, including students, teaching staff, researchers and administrative staff. The event will take place on 16th May 2024, from 13pm (departing from the UVT handball court) and promises to be a day full of energy and community spirit. The purpose of the event is to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle through cycling, while providing an excellent opportunity to strengthen the bonds between members of the university community. 
  8. The days of the shock and solidarity economy, the Department of Sociology from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, together with the CRIES Association - Resource Center for Ethical and Solidarity Initiatives and its partners, organizes this event during 16-17-May 2024, in the Hall of the University of West Timișoara. More than 20 social enterprises, cooperatives, local artisans and social economy organizations meet you on this occasion. The event includes a fair of social economy organizations, product tastings, demonstration workshops, discussions with specialists in the field of social economy and from the university environment, involved in the master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Community Development.   9. Methods of dyeing textiles with natural dyes, organized by Palade Maria Luisa, from the Faculty of Arts and Design, Department of Visual Arts. The event will take place in 17th May 2024, from 10:00 a.m., at the Art Center (str. Oituz no. 4) and is addressed to both the academic and the pre-university environment. The objective of the proposed event is to present some classic methods of dyeing textile fibers with natural dyes of vegetable origin, consisting of techniques for extracting the dye and fixing it in the fabric. The workshop will present a brief description of the coloring methods, respectively of the constituent materials that make up these sustainable and natural dyeing practices. 
  10. The students study the mountain flora, vegetation and fauna in the Natura 2000 site Țarcu Mountains, organized by Marius Berchi, Cosmin Ivașcu and Alina Ivașcu, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Biology-Chemistry Department. The event scheduled for the period 17-24-May 2024 is designed to deepen the understanding of the abiotic environment, the flora and fauna, as well as the typical mountain vegetation associated with the area of ​​the Țarcu Mountains. This initiative aims to strengthen the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired by students in the first academic year.
  11. Students discover the flora, vegetation, fauna and history of Dobrogea and the Black Sea, organized by Milca Petrovici, Adrian Sinitean, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Biology-Chemistry Department. The event will take place in 17-24-May 2024 and is addressed to FCBG students, with the aim of getting to know the abiotic environment, flora, fauna, vegetation typical of steppe areas, salty soils, sea sand dunes; knowledge of the algae and fauna of the Black Sea, fixing the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the first and second university years.
  12. Stories about People from People, organized by Petrea Vlad, from the Student Organization of the West University of Timișoara. The event will take place in May 17 - June 7 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). The event proposes to create a form and promote it through UVT so that students can appreciate people who do cool things, things to appreciate, things that help them. Additionally, it is also desired to create an Instagram page to disseminate these stories in an informal way closer to students.
  13. National competition for BIOS students, organized by Nicoleta Ianovici, Alexandru Radac, Dana Datcu, Daniela Ciobanu, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Biology-Chemistry Department. The event will take place in May 18, 2024; the contest is intended for high school students and takes place in 2 sections. The first section covers science content related to classes IX and X: Plant and animal biology. The second section considers the scientific contents of Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics and Human Ecology.
  14. The principles of sustainable development in the administrative services of UVT, organized by Petcu Vlad, from the General Administrative Directorate in partnership with the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer. The event will take place in 21th May 2024, between 10:00-11:30, in A01 and is addressed to the academic environment, with an emphasis on administrative staff. UVT's current activity must implicitly include, from the design stage, compliance with the principles of sustainable development. Administrative services already do and following the best practices this thing; the event aims to increase the degree of strategic planning and implementation in the integration of sustainable development principles at the level of UVT's administrative services.
  15. How can music contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals?, organized by Milencovici Daniel-Alex, from the Faculty of Music and Theater in partnership with the ION VIDU ARTS HIGH SCHOOL and the Center for Musical and Transdisciplinary Research. The event will take place in 20th May 2024 and is addressed to FMT students and Ion Vidu Arts High School students (who can give a micro-recital with songs about nature). The 15-minute micro-recital will be followed by a workshop, designed to help raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals. There are also practical activities in teams, for the development of ideas for future projects, starting from certain cases/problems related to the environment where music can be a solution (see Orchestra with Recyclable Instruments of North America, Vegetable Orchestra of Vienna etc).
  16. Info day mission Climate Horizon Europe, organized by Oana Ștefănescu, from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer. The event will take place in 22th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment and partners from the private sector, public administration or civil society, with the aim of presenting calls for Horizon Europe projects corresponding to the Climate mission. The event will also include match-making sessions and drafting of thematic collaborative projects. 
  17. Circular economy course, organized by Gabriela Domilescu, from the Department for Teaching Staff Training in partnership with One.shirt, Embassy. The event will take place in 23th May 2024 at UVT, in the A11 amphitheater and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). The course is mainly addressed to DPPD students for the integration of circular economy concepts in their everyday actions and in their teaching activity, integrating presentations of examples of good practice from the local community, such as One.shirt.
  18. Building a green and healthy future: a guide to sustainable choices and personal well-being, organized by Doru Costică, from the Sports Club of the West University in Timișoara. The event will take place in 23th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment, pre-university environment, company or public administration staff, respectively civil society. The event is part of the UVT Liberty Marathon conference series and has as its guest Mrs. Lavinia Bratu, associate professor at the "Victor Babeș" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara.
  19. Green Social Work in the US (virtual event), organized by Cosmin Goian, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Social Assistance Department. The event will take place in 23th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teachers, researchers, administrative staff), being organized in the form of a virtual workshop for third-year students, with the participation of a teacher from the USA - Melania Mabe, with expertise in ecological social assistance.
  20. Lesson about swimming and the importance of sports activity for children, organized by Ionuț Pîrjol from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in partnership with Worldclass. The event will take place in 31th May 2024 from 12-13:00 and is addressed to the pre-university environment. The event is organized as an open lesson, the students will be familiar with the aquatic environment, through games and exercises suitable for students to learn and improve swimming procedures, while emphasizing the importance of physical activity.
  21. Sustainable picnics and food waste prevention, organized by Gabriela Domilescu, from the Department for Teaching Staff Training in partnership with the Food Bank. The event will take place in 27th May 2024, from 14:30 p.m., in the UVT Urban Garden. It is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff) and civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). Addressed primarily to DPPD students, the event is intended to provide concrete tools for the integration of sustainability concepts and the prevention of food waste in their daily actions and in their teaching activity, starting from presentations of examples of good practice from the local community, such as the Bank of food.
  22. "I see differently", organized by Botoșan Dayira, together with Theodor Grumeza and Alina Satmari. The event will take place in 27th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). The event presents and explains to the general public the way a certain group of people perceive colors, facilitating their acceptance in society without being discriminated against. Artistic solutions, possible innovations in children's books will be presented. Also, innovative technological products made by UVT students and researchers for people with visual impairments will be presented.
  23. Open day at ICAM, organized by Dana Petcu, from the Institute of Advanced Environmental Research in partnership with the Innovation and Technological Transfer Center. The event will take place in 27-31-May 2024 and is primarily addressed to partner companies. Each day will offer the opportunity for guided tours of the Institute, round tables with debriefing for collaboration possibilities, each day having a distinct theme that reflects the contributions of the five research departments in the ICAM structure. 
  24. Building a Sustainable Workforce: Trends and Opportunities, organized by Andreea Moldovan from the Career Counseling and Guidance Center, on 28th May 2024, from 14:30 p.m., in the UVT Urban Garden. This workshop aims to educate and inspire participants about the exciting and ever-changing perspectives in the field of green workplaces. At this event, we will explore current and emerging trends in the organic industry, providing an in-depth look at the opportunities opening up in this ever-expanding sector. In addition to understanding the trends, we will also focus on the skills and qualifications needed to successfully navigate this dynamic field. But we don't just aim to provide information and knowledge, we also aim to inspire and motivate participants to follow their passion for an environmentally sustainable career.
  25. Pilates session for body and mind in the urban garden, organized by Vuinov Oana Ruxandra, from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. The event will take place in 29th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic and administrative staff of UVT, respectively to staff from partner companies or public administration. The Pilates method is strength and flexibility training that focuses on strengthening and toning the body, improving flexibility and promoting correct posture. It is a safe, effective and contemporary approach based on modern principles of exercise and recovery science. Each exercise is guided by the five essential elements: breathing, postural alignment, stability, mobility and the use of the abdominal muscles. The Pilates method differentiates itself from other forms of training by focusing on breathing and creating a mind-body connection.
  26. "Imaginary City", 4th edition, organized by Claudia Borca, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Education Sciences Department. The event will take place in May 29 - June 7 and is addressed to the pre-university environment (students, teachers and staff from pre-university education). The exhibition with works made by the students of the Pedagogy and Pedagogy of primary and preschool education from recycled materials (May 29 – June 7, 2024) will be able to be visited in the premises of UVT, and the works will then be donated to kindergartens and schools in Timiș County.
  27. Artificial intelligence can help us fight climate change. But she also has an "energy" problem?, organized by Flaminia Stârc, from the Faculty of Law. The event will take place in 30th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). The event will take place in the form of a student debate on climate change and the impact of artificial intelligence. 
  28. Debate conference: 20 years of Environmental Psychology in Timișoara/Romania-UVT – relevance, impact and perspectives, organized by Corina Ilin, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Department of Psychology, in partnership with the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research. The event will take place in 30th May 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), public administration staff, local/regional private staff. Environmental psychology studies the mutual relationship between humans and the environment. The environment we live in influences people's lives in many ways, and vice versa – the environment we live in is the product of human activity. After 20 years of sensitizing the academic environment in Timișoara and Romania to the specifics of this discipline, we believe that we are in the stage of consolidating interdisciplinary, intra- and interdepartmental university, local, regional and national collaborations and we propose the coagulation of a Center of Excellence within UVT /ICAM named BEHAVE GREEN, and during the UVT Green Month we want to present its research agenda. In this event, we explain how an important network of Romanian researchers became aware that they are involved in a distinct field of psychology that requires its own research program and that the success of their approach depends on the thematic and methodological connection with the mainstream topics of psychology, the way it collaborates with leading international specialists, but also the way it cooperates with experts from complementary fields, sustainability education, urban sociology, behavioral economics and finance, architecture, design and urbanism, geography, environmental sciences, engineering, law environment, political ecology.
  29. Throwing the thoughts away, organized by Petrea Vlad, from the Student Organization of the West University of Timișoara. The event will take place in May 30-31 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.). The workshop aims at rethinking and prototyping the design of UVT trash cans to facilitate and encourage selective collection. The prototype will be located within the university and will be accompanied by a form to be able to measure the level of satisfaction and the predisposition of students to selectively collect waste.
  30. Handball as in the book, organized by Doru Costică, from the Sports Club of the West University of Timișoara and Eugen Bota, from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. The event will take place in June 1 2024 and is addressed. 
  31. Book-like environment – ​​Children's Day at UVT, organized by Andreea Balasan, from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer, and Doru Costică, from the Sports Club of the Western University of Timișoara in partnership with the UVT faculties. The event will take place in June 1 2024, in association with the event "Handball as in the book" and is addressed to children of any age. Thematic workshops will be organized for each of the 11 UVT faculties, with specific experimentation areas and sports games, all of which will take place in the UVT parking lot on B-dul Vasile Pârvan no. 4, which will be completely free of cars.   32. Asphalt Drawing Contest, organized by Petrea Vlad, from the Student Organization of the West University of Timișoara. The event will take place in 1 June and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), public administration staff, local/regional private staff. The competition will bring, in a playful spirit, the possibility for each participant to contribute to a new aspect of the UVT parking lot, through drawings on the asphalt, encouraged to address topics connected to environmental protection and children's day.
  33. Healthy lifestyle through music and movement, organized by Claudia Borca, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Education Sciences Department. The event will take place in June 3 2024 and is addressed to the pre-university environment (students, teachers and staff from pre-university education). The activities are primarily aimed at preschoolers and primary school students.
  34. Classical music concert performed by pupils and students, organized by Violeta Zonte, from the Faculty of Music and Theatre. The event will take place in June 3 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), staff from the local/regional private environment (entrepreneurs, SME employees, UVT partner companies), society civil. The concert is an event dedicated to UVT pupils and students. The theme of the conference is: THEATER AS MUSIC and MUSIC AS THEATER. 
  35. Community Meetup, organized by Petrea Vlad, from the Student Organization of the West University of Timișoara. The event will take place in June 3 2024 and is addressed to:
    • the academic environment (students, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff), 
    • staff from the local/regional private environment (entrepreneurs, SME employees, UVT partner companies), 
    • civil society (volunteers from NGOs, citizens, etc.).
    • A social event where students can enjoy the beautiful weather, good conversation and a peaceful atmosphere. The space we propose is the Urban Garden of the Western University of Timișoara. The event will feature music to complement the atmosphere, sustainable snacks and decor, a blue-green dress code to raise awareness of the blue-green economy. Access to the event will be based on the payment of an entrance fee consisting of 10 plastic bottles/person.  
  36. Journalism & environment workshop, organized by the French Cultural Institute, in partnership with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Romania, Radio France Internationale, the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research and the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer. The event will take place in 3-4 2024 June and is addressed to journalists, students and teachers. 
  37. Education for sustainable development and well-being, organized by Claudia Borca, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Education Sciences Department. The event will take place in June 5 2024 and is addressed to the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), being addressed with priority to teachers for primary and preschool education. 
  38. Teacher's Day for a sustainable future, organized by Claudia Borca, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Education Sciences Department. The event will take place in June 5 2024
  39. Workshop "Interpretation and sustainability in the internationalization of the curriculum" @ Internationalization of the Curriculum T 𝐡𝐨𝐡𝐡𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐭 matching event, coordinated by Ana-Maria Pop, from the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, and Alexandra Petcu, from the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer. The workshop will take place within the Internationalization of Curricula Through UNITA (ICTU) event, organized between 𝟓-𝟔 June 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 by the West University of Timișoara and is addressed to the academic environment from the 12 member universities in the UNITA European university alliance.
  40. Competition of media products on ecological themes, organized by Simona Bader, together with Adina Baya and Ileana Rotaru, from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences. The event will take place in June 6 2024 and is addressed to the academic environment (students, teachers, researchers, administrative staff). Organized in the form of a media products contest with prizes made by students, the event is organized in 3 sections: audio-video and written journalistic materials (reportage, interview); digital materials (poster, infographic, reels, podcast); designing an awareness campaign (creative brief and visual identity).
  41. Impact of deforestation and pollution on human communities, organized by Cosmin Goian, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Social Assistance Department. The event will take place in June 7 2024 and is addressed to the pre-university environment (students, teaching staff and staff from pre-university education), being mainly addressed to primary school students from the "Carmen Sylva" National Pedagogical College in Timișoara.
  42. Urban eco-cycling, organized by Laurentiu Tîru and Sorin Pribac, from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Department of Sociology. Date and time to be confirmed.
