Victor Vulpe, world vice-champion in the art of shoemaking, represents Romania at the World Expo Osaka 2025, through the Faculty of Arts and Design of UVT

West University of Timișoara (UVT), through Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD), is honored to announce the participation of artist and shoe designer Victor Vulpe, within the Romanian pavilion, opened at the prestigious World Expo Osaka 2025The exhibition participation will take place between September and October 2025.

Officially invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Commissioner General of the Romanian Section for the Osaka 2025 World Expo, Ferdinand Nagy, with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Tokyo and the Romanian Cultural Institute - ICR Tokyo, Victor Vulpe will exhibit to the Japanese and international public the sketches of the "Highway" collection, part of his doctoral research, carried out within the framework of the Doctoral School of Arts (ŞDA) within the Faculty of Arts and Design of UVT.

The exhibits include a selection of bespoke creations, conceptual objects, forms, prototypes and sculptural shoes, the expression of the maturity of an artistic journey spanning over 30 years. In addition, the artist will hold an interactive workshop, offering visitors the unique experience of discovering the bespoke creation process (making personalized prototypes, on order) and interacting directly with one of the most acclaimed footwear designers in the world.

Through this initiative, Romania affirms its cultural and creative identity on the international stage, and the West University of Timisoara reconfirms its status as a pillar of academic and artistic excellence.
