In the period 07.08.2024 - 30.06.2026, the national implementation of the project "Integrated services and early education professionals” financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Program (PNRR/2024/ClS/ME/13 – Training of early childhood education professionals).
The project is coordinated by the Step by Step Center for Education and Professional Development Association and has as partners: University of Bucharest, Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj – Napoca, West University of Timișoara (UVT), "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iași, Foundation Agency for Community Development Together, Center for Continuing Education in the Hungarian Language.
The total amount granted under the Financing Agreement is 73.560.730,00 lei.
"The implementation of this project will make possible access to inclusive and quality early education services, provided by professionals, which will ultimately lead to the harmonious development of children by achieving the following objectives:
1. Increasing the quality of training programs intended for professionals in early education services and adapting them to the current needs of the direct beneficiaries of the services (pre-schoolers and preschoolers) by accrediting 2 training programs at the level of the partnership created within the project, until 31 October 2024.
2. The training of at least 600 trainers, of which at least 348 in the curriculum field and at least 252 in the field of monitoring early education services, by December 31, 2024.
3. Training a minimum of 21.000 staff from standard and complementary early education services, with priority for newly established ones, by March 31, 2026, in order to improve the capacity of teaching and administrative staff from early education structures to ensure quality services .
The team of UVT training experts will be composed of university teaching staff from the Department of Educational Sciences, the Department for Teaching Staff Training and the Department of Psychology who will tackle modules associated with key areas in early education such as:
- Module I – Principles of early education and the needs of the child,
- Module II – Learning activities for children from birth to 6 years,
- Module III.1 – Weekly planning of activities, monitoring and recording the progress of children from birth to 6 years,
- Module III.2 – Child safety in early education services,
- Module IV – Digital education in early childhood education,
- Module V – Adult Training.”
UVT is corroborating this project with its other initiatives (UVT Kindergarten, Early Education Center, EduMentor Lab) to develop a pole of expertise in early education in Timișoara.
