The Department of Social Assistance at the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of UVT organizes registrations, until October 3, 2024, for postgraduate courses in the Military Social Assistance program. The University School of Social Work at UVT has a tradition of over 30 years, training professionals who work in the fields of social services in Romania, Europe, North America, etc.
Military Social Assistance is a subfield with tradition in the USA, France, Canada, where, starting from the Second World War, active military, veterans and their families are among those who have benefited from professional support to overcome situations of social, economic, emotional.
The organization of this program responds to a real need to adapt professionals to the current requirements of the military in NATO structures.
"Social workers in the military sector provide assistance to families to cope with the departure of a family member to the military, supporting them in the process of adjustment to this situation and the return of these people from theaters of operations. The military social worker helps teenagers overcome the fear of losing their active-duty parents and can help veterans readjust to civilian life by managing their grief, trauma, or physical injury." - according to European Commission.
The Military Social Assistance postgraduate study program was approved by UVT Senate Decision no. 15/25.07.2024 and registered with no. 575 in the National Register of Postgraduate Programs.
