West University of Timișoara (UVT), through Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (FMI – UVT), announces the organization of the second edition of the cybersecurity competition "UniVsThreats – Capture The Flag", between 3-4 May 2025 (at the headquarters ICAME and in online format).
Designed specifically for college and high school students, this competition offers a unique opportunity to encounter real-world cybersecurity challenges, hone skills, and compete with like-minded peers in an exciting environment. Teams of three will compete in the following categories: web exploitation, reverse engineering, cryptography, pwn, forensics, steganography, social engineering, OSINT, and miscellaneous.
Contest rules and guidelines:
- Teams consist of exactly 3 members;
- Only college and high school students are eligible for the first three main prizes;
- All participants can compete for the first overall team prize;
- Fair play is mandatory – don't cheat, distribute flags, or use automated tools.
The event is open to all students, who will be offered practical exercises from beginner to advanced levels. In addition, participants will enjoy snacks, goodies and, for the winners, cash prizes, as well as possible equivalency for admission to Computer Science profiles.
Participation is free, but prior registration is required using this form.
