The West University of Timisoara (UVT) reconfirms its status as a center of excellence in scientific research, obtaining funding for three international projects within the competition MAPS – Multilateral Academic Projects, part of the program Second Swiss Contribution, carried out by Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
This new success places UVT among the most active and performing research institutions in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, demonstrating its ability to connect to international networks, attract competitive funds and make a relevant contribution to solving major global challenges through cutting-edge research.
The MAPS competition, with a total funding of CHF 13,5 million, encourages multilateral collaborations between academic institutions in Switzerland and Central and Eastern European countries, aiming to develop high-level research projects in strategic areas such as sustainability, education and social innovation. In Romania, the program is supported by UEFISCDI and the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization (MCID).
This new success places UVT among the most active and performing research institutions in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, demonstrating the ability to connect to international networks, attract competitive funds and make a relevant contribution to solving major global challenges through cutting-edge research.
Through the three selected projects, UVT attracts a total funding of 1.468.431 CHF, essential funds for carrying out research activities, strengthening teams of specialists and internationalizing academic research.
