On the occasion of the National Day of Romania, as a sign of high appreciation for the important results obtained in the process of intellectual and human training of the young generations, for the promotion of the quality of Romanian university education, the President of Romania conferred the "Merit for Education" Order in the rank of Commander to the University of West from Timișoara, on the anniversary of the 80th anniversary of its foundation.

As part of the decoration decrees signed by the President of Romania on the occasion of Romania's National Day, national orders and orders of merit were awarded to several institutions and prestigious personalities of public life in Romania, for their exceptional merits in their professional activity, as well as for the important results obtained in the process of intellectual and human training of the young generations, to promote the quality of Romanian university education.
