UVT brings to the forefront student performance in Artificial Intelligence, robotics and STEM education

The West University of Timișoara hosts, during the May 21-25, 2026, the training and selection activities of national team for Artificial Intelligence, with a view to Romania's participation in international competitions in the field.

The internship brings together in Timișoara 30 high school students from across the country, alongside professors, experts and academics, and is carried out with the support of UVT, in partnership with Politehnica University Timișoara. The activities will use the HRIA infrastructure of UVT to deepen advanced models and techniques in the field of artificial intelligence.

We invite you to participate in theofficial opening of the internship, which will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 12:00, in UVT amphitheater A01 (headquarters, 4 Vasile Pârvan Blvd.).

On the same day, from at 13:00, UVT will celebrate the performances of high school students awarded at National Informatics Olympiad, National Information Technology Olympiad, National Olympiad in Applied Informatics, National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad and National Cyber ​​Security Olympiad, along with their coordinating teachers. The moment will also include the recognition of the results obtained by the robotics team CSH of the "Carmen Sylva" National Pedagogical College in Timișoara, participant in FIRST Tech Challenge World Robotics Championship 2026, held in Houston, USA.

Through these events, UVT reaffirms its commitment to supporting excellence in the pre-university environment and to creating real bridges between high schools, universities, teachers, mentors and the strategic fields of the future: Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, Robotics and STEM education.

The West University of Timisoara invites representatives of the media, the educational community and the public environment to participate in this event dedicated to the performance of students, teachers and communities that contribute to the development of STEM education in Romania.

Event: Opening of the national Artificial Intelligence batch internship and celebration of student performance in STEM education;

Now: 13:00 PM – moment dedicated to the national Olympians and the CSH robotics team;
