A classic fairy tale in a horror adaptation – "The Goat with Three Kids" (2022), the film chosen by LIFT students for the third debate of the Contemporary Romanian Film Club

On April 28, at 18:00 PM, in room 204, the third debate of the Contemporary Romanian Film Club within the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology of UVT took place, coordinated by asst. cerc. dr. Raul Săran. After the meeting in April, which had in the foreground Cristian Mungiu's film, "4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days", the students voted for Victor Canache's film, "Capra cu trei iezi" (2022), for this month's debate.

The main topics addressed considered the adaptation of the classic fairy tale into a horror version (as well as the degree of freedom assumed by the director in relation to the source text), the power relationship between the characters, the topicality of the film, the positioning of this film in the Romanian cinematographic paradigm of recent years, the defining elements for the horror genre that can be found in this film, as well as the differences in perception that may arise in the analysis of the film, depending on the environment from which the film lovers interested in this film come.

The next meeting of the Contemporary Romanian Film Club will take place in October, in the 2025-2026 academic year.
