Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 19:00 p.m., students from Timisoara will participate in the EUNIC International Music Festival (European Union National Institutes for Culture), an event that will take place at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna. The musical program of the festival was designed as a review of a century of Central European and Romanian music, bringing to the fore both famous composers and some lesser known to the Viennese public. From Ludwig van Beethoven, Claude Debussy, Gustav Holst to Vangelis we move on to arias from Romanian operettas by Ciprian Porumbescu and Gherase Dendrino, to lieds and popular songs by Tiberiu Brediceanu, Gheorghe Dima, Sabin Păutza, Vasile Popovici and Achim Stoia. The students of the Faculty of Music and Theater from Timișoara will perform alongside the renowned Greek pianist Konstantinos Diminakis under the title: "Greece and Romania, from the Greek sky to the Romanian moon".

The musical preparation for both concerts belongs to the univ. Dr. Mariana-Irina Șarba, the project coordinator together with Prof. Univ. Dr. Eleonora Ringler-Pascu. Piano accompaniment is provided by university lecturer Dr. Silviana Cîrdu, and the direction is signed by conf. univ. Dr. Petru-Silviu Văcărescu.

The two events highlight young performers alongside their masters and promote the Western University of Timișoara, where "Culture is the Capital!", in the capital of Austria, in the year Timișoara is the European capital of culture. Entry to both events is free, subject to availability. The full program is available on http://rkiwien.at.
