The UVT Doctoral School of Arts organizes the seventh edition of the "SIMPOZION" international conference dedicated to doctoral students in the field of Visual Arts

Between June 19-20, 2025, the seventh edition of the international conference will be held at the Faculty of Arts and Design of the West University of Timișoara "SYMPOSIUM" – a platform dedicated to interaction and exchange of ideas between doctoral students in the field of Visual Arts, coming from universities and faculties of art and design from the country and abroad. The event is organized by the Doctoral School of Arts of UVT, an integral part of the UNITA Alliance.

The conference offers a broad and diverse framework for presenting artistic research concerns, covering a diverse range of concepts, hypotheses, experiments, techniques and innovative solutions. It encourages free expression and open debate of doctoral students' projects, supporting the dialogue between theoretical and practical forms of artistic research, either through art or about art.

This year's edition is part of a series of events organized on the occasion of the anniversary of 35 years since the re-establishment of the Faculty of Arts and Design, UVTThe program includes:

  • PhD student exhibition (June 19 – August 31), with a vernissage on June 19, 13:00 PM, at which the opening speech will be given by Prof. Dr. Diana Andreescu, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design;
  • "Performance without a hem" workshop, held by Dr. Alex Mirutziu, between June 23 and 25, between 16:00 PM and 18:00 PM, coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liliana Popa;
  • Flute and piano recital performed by the Romanian-Swiss duo Léa Marion-Nély and Alexandra Vizman, scheduled for June 30, 19:00 PM.

All events will take place in the Mansarda Gallery of the Faculty of Arts and Design (4 Oituz Street, Timișoara). The conference coordinator is Prof. Dr. Adriana Lucaciu.
