The Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna supports the participation of Romanian artists in the most important design festival in Austria, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2024, with an exhibition presenting original works made by the students of the Faculty of Arts and Design of the Western University of Timișoara. The project coordinator is prof. Dr. Diana Andreescu, the dean Faculty of Arts and Design.
The opening of the exhibition, accompanied by a Design Talk, has place on Tuesday, September 24, at 17.00 p.m. The exhibition is hosted at the headquarters of ICR Vienna until September 27 and can be visited between 11.00 and 18.00.
Works from the following fields are exhibited: graphic design – illustration, product design, multimedia design, game-art, character design and jewelry design by the following artists/students: David Borovic, Vanessa Marity, Lucian Socaciu, Namaah Tămășanu, Oana Tunsoiu, Petru Grangure, Cirebea Ana Silvana, Cezara Carla Padurean, Claudia Feti, Gligor Alexandra, Cristescu Iulia, Bogdan Alexandru Andrei Daniel, Cojocaru Silvia Andreea, Roșca Adina-Elena, Kinces Paula-Andreea, Fistiș Luca Maximilian, Onica Ioana, Moga Maria , Gladîș Iulia, Costea Maria, Iernea Diana-Nicoleta, Maria Moga.
VIENNA DESIGN WEEK takes place from September 20 to 29, with headquarters in the Landstraße district and various locations around the city, including ICR Vienna. Since 2007, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK has been a defining part of Vienna's design landscape. The festival consists of around 200 events and enjoys 40 visitors each year. At the heart of the design festival are product, furniture and industrial design, architecture, graphic design and social design, as well as experimental and digital productions.
The exhibition in the ICR Vienna gallery is part of the PLATFORM section of the festival. Diversity is the very goal of this section of the festival, which provides a platform for designers, companies and educational and cultural institutions from around the world. The formats organized by VIENNA DESIGN WEEK are complemented in an important way by the projects of the program partners, which make a significant contribution to the diversity and quality of the festival.
