UVT is the only university from Timișoara included in the 2024 edition of the prestigious international ranking made by Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China, which highlights the mention, for the first time, of the field of teaching and research Psychology at UVT, in the range of 401-500 worldwide.
The inclusion of the field of Psychology in the range of 401-500 at the international level, in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, illustrates the fact that the sustained efforts made by the academic community of the West University of Timișoara in the research activity produce new visible results at the international level.
The official announcement of the first inclusion of UVT's Psychology field in the top Shanghai (ARWU) is a meritorious result, as it is an aspiration that the UVT community has dared to dream of in recent years. The achievement is all the more prestigious as this ranking is based exclusively on objective data (number of publications in the Q1 and Q2 area, impact/citations attracted by the publications, slightly weighted to take into account the size of the department). This international recognition underlines the value of the contributions of the academic community in the field of Psychology, bringing significant added value to the sphere of scientific knowledge.
