Timisoara means inspiration and creativity, and the vital center of these energies is naturally located in the Faculty of Arts and Design of the West University of Timisoara (FAD-UVT) – the only higher education institution in Timisoara that offers accredited academic studies in the field of visual arts and design. Here, art is not only taught, but also experienced, awarded, exhibited and recognized nationally and internationally.
Through unique study programs, with a curriculum adapted to contemporary realities and an active community of professors-artists, students and alumni, FAD-UVT constantly generates valuable projects that make their presence felt in the Romanian and European cultural landscape.
Recent results confirm this natural reality. An illustrative example is “The NANCY Project” – an experimental game developed by the team of FAD-UVT student Ștefan Nagy (2025rd year Design), which won the award for Best Student / Game Jam Project at Dev.Play XNUMX – Romanian Games Awards. The project was the first nominee and is an example of the fusion of art, technology and emerging storytelling.
Another significant confirmation is provided by the sculpture specialization, which reaches the national stage again: Ștefania Iakab-Chircă, a student of FAD-UVT, is a finalist in the first edition of the New Wave Art Prize, organized by the Bog'Art Foundation. Selected by the jury from 57 participants from all over the country, Ștefania will compete in the grand final on July 2. This nomination reconfirms the high standards of academic training at FAD-UVT.
The emotions of the city become living art also through the Project "CENS.US – The Map That Feels the City", created by Cezara Carla Pădurean, FAD-UVT alumna and winner of the Neo Art Connect scholarship. The project will be exhibited on June 5 at the "Dimitrie Leonida" National Technical Museum in Bucharest. The installation transforms collective urban experiences into sensitive data, offering a unique interactive experience.
