At the Western University of Timișoara, the mixed intensive program dedicated to the intercomprehension of the Romance languages debuted, which is the occasion for the one-week presence at UVT of twenty-two students from five universities of the UNITA alliance: Università degli Studi di Torino, Université Savoie-Mont Blanc, Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, Universidad de Zaragoza, Politécnico da Guarda, Universidade da Beira Interior.
The activities covering the wide range of intercomprehension will be supported by five professors from the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, as well as professors from the two partner universities: Elisa Corino, Sandra Garbarino, Roberto Merlo, from the Universita degli Studi di Torino, and Geraldine Lesparre, from the Universite de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, all well-known specialists in the method of intercomprehension.
Given the fact that this year Timișoara is the European Capital of Culture, the theme was thought of in this context: cultural heritage. The partnership with the Bănățean Village Museum and the National Museum of Banat thus brings the participating students into the position of practicing intercomprehension in informal settings. Already enjoying appreciation in the media, the Erasmus+ program financed by the European Union of Blended Intensive Program (BIP), Intercomprehension for Language for Specific Purposes. Cultural Heritage, will thus take place not only in university classrooms, but also in museum spaces.
