#noseason READY TO WEAR 2020 – personal exhibition Sandra Chira

"About my joy in drawing... a shirt of his, which is also my jacket, a T-shirt of his, which is also my dress..."

The newest collection signed by fashion designer Sandra Chira, #noseason READY TO WEAR 2020, is about the relationship between man and his clothes, being the first mixed project, womenswear/menswear of the creator. An extensive collection, adaptable for any season, made mainly from natural and recycled materials, using a neutral color palette with colored grays. The collection could be seen and admired at the Helios Art Gallery in Timișoara until June 27.

Sandra Chira has addressed themes related to identity in all the collections released to date, focusing especially on what expresses "our image to others". The artist says that lately she felt more and more strongly that "for the people I admire, clothes are important only to the extent that they signify something and independently of the social context in which they are placed. For them, the social image is not a priority and it becomes the way through which the choices, including the clothing ones, are more authentic."

The collection #noseason READY TO WEAR 2020 it is about the normality of life, without artifices and philosophical messages. It is, as Sandra says: “about landscapes, beings and places that for me are joy. About how fine cotton or home-woven cloth feels on the skin. About the creases and shadows a coat makes after you wear it, after he hugs you, or after you fall into the grass.

About the timelessness of chromatic and textural refinement, which resists the new eclectic trends. About my joy of drawing... a shirt of his, which is also my jacket, a T-shirt of his, which is also my dress.

About the significance that a garment that represents you culturally gives you. About the emotions that we try to carry with us in objects, in books, phones, photos and that we also carry in our clothes, forgetting at least temporarily about the patterns and trends that standardize our image."

Sandra Chira is a doctoral university lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of West Timișoara and a trainee member of the Union of Visual Artists from Romania, Timișoara branch.

The brand Sandra Chira it speculates elements of local identity, with timeless value, that respond to the need for social individualization. The creations Sandra Chira confirms the importance of the authenticity of the image, through unique objects, with increased attention to details.
