MUSICOOLT – an innovative project of the Faculty of Music and Theatre

A creative project, to popularize contemporary music, debuts within the Faculty of Music and Theater of UVT. "MUSICOOLT" is organized by two of its exponents, lect. university Gabriel Almași, recent winner of the Composers Union Award for 2020 and university associate. Gabriel Mălăncioiu, both composers and teaching staff of FMT-UVT.

Seven composers from four different areas - Timisoara, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Iasi - aim to demonstrate that contemporary music is not at all hermetic and inaccessible to the non-specialist public, but on the contrary: it is alive, colorful and capable of generating strong emotions. "You don't have to be a musician to fall in love with contemporary music, nor do you have to have any prior musical training to enjoy the most modern musical languages. You just have to have curious ears and an open mind", the project team publicly conveys MUSIC.

Thus, anyone curious between the ages of 16 and 116 is welcome to ZOOM IN on the new music, starting on April 8, together with the musicians from UVT and their friends.

The MUSICOOLT meetings will take place every two weeks, on Thursday evenings, from 19:00, on the ZOOM platform, being broadcast live on the project's Facebook page as well.
