After the first edition of "The cultural marathon", organized in January on the occasion of National Culture Day, Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology (FLIFT) within West University of Timisoara (UVT) continues the series of cultural initiatives brought together under this concept through "Poetry Ride: May on the Tram", a project that brings poetry to the heart of the city and the community.
Conceived in an unconventional format, "The cultural marathon” proposes bringing the public closer to culture through unique and interactive experiences. In this direction, “Poetry Ride: May on the Tram", which transforms public transportation into a space for encountering poetry and linguistic and cultural diversity.
The public is invited to a journey through Timișoara by bus, tram and vaporetto, during which poems in German, Croatian, Bulgarian and English will be read, along with translations into Romanian by faculty and students. Participants will receive leaflets with poems in the aforementioned languages and their translations into Romanian.
The departure will take place on May 27, 2026, at 14:30 PM, from the station in front of the West University of Timisoara.
Through "Poetry Ride: May on the Tram", FLIFT continues the series of cultural initiatives dedicated to its 70 years of existence, offering the public a new way of encountering literature and linguistic diversity.
