The West University of Timisoara, through the Faculty of Physics, has the great pleasure of announcing the organization of the event "International Masterclasses ATLAS - Hands on Particle Physics".
Carried out in collaboration with CERN, the ATLAS Experiment at CERN and the International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG), the event represents one of the most prestigious international educational activities dedicated to high school students.
The event will take place on March 21 2025, in the time frame 10:00am – 18:00am, Institute for Advanced Environmental Research (ICAM Hall) from the West University of Timisoara.
The ATLAS International Masterclasses offer students the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of elementary particle physics, under the guidance of renowned specialists. Participants will perform measurements on real data collected from the LHC particle accelerator at CERN and will interact directly with researchers in the field.
The event is part of an international program held simultaneously in several European cities, culminating in a final videoconference moderated directly by CERN representatives, which will allow students to communicate and compare their results with those of their colleagues from other countries. And through this special event, the West University of Timisoara encourages the promotion of science and offers passionate young people special opportunities to discover the fascinating universe of particle physics.
