Between December 1 and 3, 2021, the Western University of Timișoara participated in the "EUnierCities - A new student generation: New challenges for City&University" meeting in Parma.
EUnierCities is a European network, officially launched in 2012, where cities and their Universities work together to improve development cooperation.
The network mainly brings together cities and universities with a similar economic, social and technological profile. The concept of the network embodies, first and foremost, the recognition of the importance of technology, innovation and knowledge to society.
During the conferences held in Parma, the students who represented the Western University of Timișoara – Denisa Ungurean, UNITA representative and Roxana Matei, OSUT vice-president, participated in various workshops focused on the following areas of interest:
Education: Flexible curricula, digitization, multi-practice education and how the city can play a role in this.
Student life & welfare: Resistance to increasing pressure, stress and mental problems of students; How we develop a sense of safety, relaxation, health and social comfort.
Housing: addressing the different accommodation needs of each Member State, the issue of international students.
In this context, Ungurean Denisa, student representative in the UNITA Governing Council, gave a presentation of the UNITA Advisory Council structure, the University Alliance of which UVT is a part, with an emphasis on the good collaboration between the University and the socio-economic actors of the city of Timișoara. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session in which all participants were actively involved.
