West University of Timişoara (UVT), in collaboration with the Agency for Regional Development West (ADR West) and the Prefect Institution - Timiș County organizes the workshop "Immigrants in Romania. Risks, opportunities and solutions to facilitate the integration process".
The workshop brings together leading specialists in working with migrants, representatives of the General Inspectorate for Immigration, UNHCR, the National and County Employment Agency, the International Organization for Migration, civil society, employers or recruitment companies, university specialists, researchers, representatives of local, county and national public administration.
Starting from synthetic data on the evolution of migration in Romania (Anatolie Cosciug, ICAM – UVT) and those on the perception of Timișoara residents towards migrants (Associate Professor Dr. Marius Matichescu, Dean of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work), respectively by bringing together the advanced expertise of the participants in the panel discussion on trends and solutions in migration, the participants will be able to critically reflect on the problems faced by migrants in Romania, respectively they will propose solutions and useful public policy measures for their more efficient integration into the labor market and society.
We invite you to participate in the workshop that will take place at the West University of Timisoara, in November 3, 2025, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (room A01), organized by UVT in collaboration with the West Regional Development Agency (ADR West) and the Prefect's Institution - Timiș County.
