During October 17-18, the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research (ICAM – UVT) is the host of the 33rd edition of the "Eugen Segal" Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry Symposium of the Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry Commission of the Romanian Academy. The main organizers were Prof. Dr. Eng. Vlase Titus, from the Western University of Timisoara, president of the Scientific Council of ICAM, Prof. Dr. Andrei Rotaru, president of CATCAR and Prof. Dr. Eng. Ionuţ Ledeţi, professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy "Victor Babeş" Timisoara, vice-president of CATCAR. During the conference with international participation, more than 40 works in the field of chemistry will be supported and presented, related to applications of thermal analysis and calorimetry methods on different categories of materials and substances.
There are participants from the Institute of Materials Science in Seville (Spain), the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Slovakia), the University of Catania (Italy), the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" Iasi, the University from Zagreb (Croatia), the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (Croatia), the University of Girona (Spain), the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Western University of Timisoara, the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research, through the Research Center "Thermal Analysis in environmental problems", ICAM-CATM-UVT, Timisoara, University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Victor Babeş" Timisoara, University of Bucharest, University of Craiova, Institute of Chemistry and State University of Moldova, Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), University Babeș-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Institute of Physical Chemistry - Ilie Murgulescu, Bucharest, Polytechnic University of Timișoara, National Research Institute - Development in Electrochemistry and Condensed Matter, Timișoara, "Coriolan Drăgulescu" Institute of Chemistry, Regional Research Center and Expertise in Conservation and Restoration CR-CERC, Timișoara, Timiș County Culture Directorate.
The works were divided into four main sections, namely:
- Theory, methods, kinetics and structural changes;
