The academic community of the Western University of Timișoara gathered on the evening of November 19, 2024, in the elegant space of the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theater in Timișoara, to recognize the outstanding merits and performances of its members. Together, guests from the community, representatives of institutional partners, teaching staff, students and researchers, celebrated university excellence and performance at the UVT 2024 Awards Gala.
During the tenth edition of the UVT Awards Gala, the rector of UVT, prof. univ. dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, said:
"The world we live in is characterized by turmoil, both in the bad sense of the word, but also in the good, creative, innovative sense. During this period, I also discovered the kindness, empathy, creativity, innovation, and progress of humanity. We have placed ourselves on the good side of existence, on the clean side, perhaps also because of the profession we chose, or the vocation that chose us.
This evening is about joy, about gaiety, about applause, values, about the results of exceptional people who, individually and all of us together, give consistency and identity to what the Western University of Timișoara means.
On the 80th anniversary, we think of all those who created this university, contributed to its existence and development and passed on a responsibility to make it bigger, livelier, stronger, more developed, more humane, more collegial, to fill with life. Tonight it is about the individual results of our colleagues, for which we rejoice and show their appreciation, we applaud them and rejoice with them, but it is also about our dedication, of all of us, about what we do day in and day out in the service our university. Maybe many efforts are not seen, they are not necessarily under the spotlight, but I know that each of us contributes to what UVT is today, an open university, an agora of debates, a temple of education, research, innovation, hope , but also a beacon for Timișoara and for the community in which we live."
An annual event dedicated to sciences, arts and sports, the UVT 2024 Awards Gala benefited from the contribution of outstanding institutional partners of the Western University of Timișoara, those who made it possible to organize this celebration of the academic environment in our community, to whom we thank them for their trust in the UVT academic excellence community: BCR, CTP, Linde, Flex, Eviden, Nokia, Atos, Unicredit Bank, Hamilton, Marsh.
During the Gala, some artistic moments supported by the students and teachers of the Faculty of Music and Theater from UVT shone, with harmonious interpretations of the creations signed by Sir Edward Elgar, Karl Zeller, Gioacchino Rossini, Alexander Borodin, Vangelis, Frederik Loewe and Emmerich Kalman, culminating with the piece "Everest" by Jacob de Haan, under the musical direction of lect. university Dr. Cosmin Hărsian.

- Prof. Dr. Ramona Paloș - "Gabriela COLŢESCU" Award for Social and Economic Sciences
- Prof. Dr. Daniela Constantin – "Eugen TODORAN" Award for Humanities and Vocational Sciences
- Prof. Dr. Mariana Crașovan - "Dorel UNGUREANU" Award for Modern and Student-Centered Education
- Assist. Dr. Alexandra-Mădălina Ţăran – Award for "Young Researchers"
- Assist. Dr. Theodor-Radu Grumeza – "Innovation in UVT" Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Ionuț Stănușoiu, Mayor of Ghiroda - "Sever BOCU" Award for Civic and Social Involvement
- Prof. Dr. Carmen Mihaela Băbăiță, in whose honor we kept a moment of silence - "Ioan CUREA" Award for the Activity carried out in UVT
- Florin-Petrișor Andraș-Hurezan – "Student of the Year" Award
- Vlad Ardeleanu - "Alumnus" Award.
