The Western University of Timișoara will host on March 23 2023 (in the A01 amphitheater, starting at 10 a.m.), the event Future Summit Timisoara. It aims to bring together the local community: young leaders, local elected officials and civil servants, entrepreneurs, investors and people of culture, who will rethink the future of the city from a perspective of sustainability and technological innovations. 

Future Summit Timișoara will be held at the Western University of Timișoara, in two parts: in the first part of the day, a conference on future and technology topics, and in the second part of the day, a moderated working group on city foresight methodology in which the participants - the central stakeholders of the city - collaborate to identify challenges, opportunities, as well as development scenarios for the future of the city.

The conference will take place between 10.00 and 12.30. Registration is done at this link, and access is free and open to the public. The conference agenda includes:

• 10.00 – 10.15: Intro (Ciprian Stanescu, President, Social Innovation Solutions);
• 10.15 – 10.45: The future of work and skills (Michael Zant, International Coach & Trainer | Managing Partner, HUMANISTICS);
• 10.45 – 11.15: New technologies in the future of mobility (Andrey Son, Country Innovation Manager, Continental Automotive Romania);
• 11.15 – 11.45: Panel – Timișoara, sustainable city and prepared for the future (Valentin Muresan, personal advisor to the Mayor for Digitization and Smartcity | Sorina Voiculescu, University Lecturer, West University of Timișoara | Roxana Grancea, Team Lead, Atos IT Solutions and Services);
• 11.45 – 12.15: Co-creation session about the future with the participants;
• 12.15 – 12.30: Closing (Ciprian Stanescu, President, Social Innovation Solutions).

In the second part of the day, a working group will take place during the event that will bring together 20 of the city's important stakeholders in a closed-door conversation about the city's future. The event is part of Future Summit 2023, the largest conference on future trends and sustainability in Romania, which has established itself, from 2017 until now, as one of the main meeting points for visionaries and futurists in Central and Eastern Europe. Future Summit brought together over 1500+ of entrepreneurs, social innovators and policy makers from 50+ countries in conversations about the future, innovation and sustainability.

In 2023, in its eighth edition, Future Summit extends to eight cities in the country and abroad, with sessions in Timișoara, Brașov, Constanța, Bucharest, Iasi, Athens, Sofia, and Belgrade. The main event will take place in Bucharest on May 18. The event will bring on the same stage international speakers, inventors, social innovators and experts in the future, trends and sustainability, with speeches on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability and Sustainable Finance, Automation and 5G/6G Transformations, Healthcare Innovation, Climate and Green Economy, Education and Skills, Future of Cities. Approximately 200 participants will attend this session.
