The year 2021 begins with good news at the Western University of Timișoara.

Exploratory research project funding competition organized by UEFISCDI, highlighted again the concern of the UVT academic community for the performance in scientific research. The results of this competition materialized by winning seven exploratory research projects that UVT submitted last year to UEFISCDI, accumulating an amount of 7.633.260 lei, dedicated exclusively to the financing of scientific research activities.

The experience, tenacity and performance orientation of UVT members who submitted projects in this competition made the Western University of Timișoara have the highest success rate (31,8% of all projects submitted by UVT), compared to other universities from Romania. The funded projects are assigned to the following scientific fields: 3 – social and economic sciences (psychology), 1 – computer science, 1 – mathematics, 1 – biology and ecology (biology), 1 – humanities (philology).
