The Faculty of Law from Timișoara awards its winners. 2022 edition

The results obtained by the students of the Faculty of Law of the University of the West in Timișoara in the national and international competitions organized in the academic year 2021-2022 are publicly marked through an event organized on Monday, June 27, 2022, starting at 17 p.m., in the A01 Amphitheater of the University of the West from Timișoara, Bd. Vasile Pârvan no. 4.

On this occasion, the students who participated in the 2022 edition of the Hexagon of Law Faculties, a prestigious national competition organized annually between the teams of the law faculties of the University of Bucharest, "Babeș-Bolyai" University Cluj-Napoca, "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University will be awarded ” Iasi, "Lucian Blaga" University Sibiu, University of Craiova and West University of Timișoara. The team of the Faculty of Law from Timișoara took first place in the general ranking. At the same time, the Faculty of Law from Timișoara obtained first place in the Civil Law exam (through the team formed by Anisia Coroama and Iulia Ungureanu, coordinated by Dr. Maximilian-Andrei Druță, research assistant), second place in the Constitutional Law exam ( by the team formed by Dan Boișteanu and Daniel Jivi, coordinated by university lecturer Dr. Andreea Verteș-Olteanu) and second place in the Criminal Law exam (by the team formed by Adrian Coșa and Iasmina Drăguescu, coordinated by Miss Cristina Nicorici ). They contributed to the preparation of the teams
also, teaching staff of competitive subjects and doctoral students of the faculty.
On the same occasion, the students who participated in the international mock trial competitions in public international law, European Union law and European human rights law will be awarded. Thus, the students participating in the final stage of the Central and Eastern European Moot Competition, a competition in its 27th edition, organized by the British Law Center and the Center for European Legal Studies of the University of Cambridge, supported by Clifford Chance, European Investment Bank and The Honorable Society of the Inner Temple. The Timișoara Faculty of Law team, composed of Maria Ierima, Timeea Lupșa, Bogdan Țermure and Tania Velcsov (XNUMXrd year students), qualified for the semifinals of the competition, placing XNUMXrd in the general ranking. At the same time, Miss Maria Ierima obtained an individual pleading award. The team's training was coordinated by Prof. Univ. Dr. Raluca Bercea, Mrs. lect. university Dr. Sorina Doroga and Miss Dr. Bianca Șerb, former participant in international pleading competitions.

At the same time, the students who participated in the final international rounds of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition, a prestigious student scientific competition on human rights, in its 10th edition, organized by ELSA International, in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Human Rights Association. In the final stage of the competition, 18 teams qualified, including the Timișoara Faculty of Law team, made up of Anda Brîndușoni, Iulia Gheju, Ioana Silaș and Georgiana Vlonga (third-year students). The team's training was coordinated by Prof. Univ. Dr. Raluca Bercea and Miss Dr. Diana Fofiu, former participant in international pleading competitions.

Students who participated in the international round of the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition, the most prestigious student competition in Europe on public international law topics, organized by Leiden University (Netherlands), will also be awarded. In the international stage, 25 teams competed this year, including the Timișoara Faculty of Law team, composed of Bianca Iaici, Anisia Mateia, Raoul Simionescu and Marin Ugnenco (second year students). The team took fifth place in the ranking of written pleadings for plaintiffs. The team's training was coordinated by Mrs. lect. university Dr. Sorina Doroga and Miss Dr. Alexandra Burdulea, former participant in international pleading competitions.

At the same time, students of the Faculty of Law of the West University of Timișoara are invited to the event, who participated in other national competitions this year. The prizes are offered to students by the Western University of Timișoara and the faculty's institutional partners.

The results obtained by the Faculty of Law of the Western University of Timișoara are part of the upward trend of participation in national and international student competitions in recent years. The Faculty of Law in Timișoara thanks its students and the professors who coordinated their training, for their contribution to promoting the image of the law school in Timișoara, as well as the institutional partners who support the performances of the young lawyers in Timișoara.
