Between October 24-28, 2022, the Western University of Timișoara, through the Erasmus Office within the Department of International Relations, organizes the XNUMXth edition of the already traditional annual event, Erasmus International Week @ West University of Timişoara, repeatedly declared a model of good practices at the national level.
This edition with the title "Internationalization of Higher Education in 2022-2023 and beyond— Focus on Ukraine" is dedicated exclusively to the participation of our colleagues from Erasmus+ partner universities in Ukraine - as the first and currently unique initiative of this kind in Romania.
A total of 27 teaching staff and administrative staff from 11 higher education institutions in Ukraine are participating this week in teaching activities in some of the UVT faculties, as well as in workshops on the internationalization of higher education and informative sessions supported by experts from the National Agency for Community Programs in the Field of Education and Professional Training and from UVT. It is expected to attract an increased interest of the participants for the themes proposed to be addressed: international mobilities in the new Erasmus program, the European Universities initiative, or the redefinition of international relations in higher education in times of crisis.
UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The Western University of Timișoara demonstrates its willingness to support universities in Ukraine, especially in this period of instability and lack of predictability. We arrived at an adjusted format of the Erasmus International Week @West University of Timişoara program, more adapted to the new conditions and needs of global higher education. We are convinced that such actions bring added value to the professional experience of the participants from Ukraine, but also of the UVT colleagues who come into contact with them, another form of internationalization, right at home."
