For the UVT team, trained by Vlad Bura, Caludiu Matiș and Florin Olariu scored, who deserve congratulations for these goals that brought victory in the final. The bronze medals went to the host team, representing the University of Oradea, which beat the "4 Decembrie" University team from Alba Iulia 1-1. In the groups, the UVT football team achieved two victories and a draw: 5-0 with UNEFS Bucharest, 0-0 with the University of Oradea and 3-0 with the University of Petrol and Gas of Ploiesti.

UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "Almost a year ago, the football team of the Western University of Timișoara, representing Romania at the European University Games held in Poland, in Lodz, won the final of the European championship. The value of the football played by the UVT team is not ephemeral, it maintains a very high rate year after year. After winning the European University Games, here is the UVT team reconfirming their work power and their pleasure to play. The UVT community promotes sports culture in the most diverse branches and specialties of team or individual games, and the achievements of the UVT football team are among the most significant successes in the record we are proud of. Congratulations to the UVT football team!"
