In a special year for UVT, the one in which the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Royal Decree establishing the Western University of Timișoara, the agenda of events that we have brought to the community is completed on Friday, November 29, with the ceremony of granting the title of Doctor Honoris Causa Artis an exceptional personality of universal music, Distinguishedă Artist Professor Dr. Marilyn Shrude. Awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Mrs. Marilyn Shrude is more than a recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of music. It is in recognition of his profound impact as a mentor, educator and artist whose legacy will continue to inspire generations; it is a testament to the alignment of our university's strategic vision with the ideals that Her Majesty embodies – creativity, research, collaboration and a deep commitment to education and cultural exchange.

Ms. Marilyn Shrude's career as a composer is remarkable, with music that has reached global audiences, ranging from chamber music works to orchestral pieces. His ability to combine intellectual rigor with emotional depth is unmatched. Her music is known for its originality and exploration of sound, while remaining deeply human. Dr. Shrude expands the artistic landscape through his compositions and advocacy of new music, inspiring collaboration and generating new ideas. Her Majesty is a visionary who nurtures and challenges the next generation of musicians and provides an example for young people to follow, which is in line with UVT's desire to provide its students with an appropriate framework in which to train and develop, not to miss the values fundamentals of humanity, missing its own becoming.

Distinguished Professor Marilyn Shrude's influence extends beyond her students.
