Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA) within the West University of Timișoara will organize Friday, March 6, 2026, starting at 16 p.m., in the amphitheater of the FEAA main headquarters (16 JHPestalozzi Street, Timisoara), the event was held on the occasion of the visit to UVT of His Excellency, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Romania, Mr. Giles Portman. On this occasion, the stage meeting with the academic team and students will take place the new MBA program (Master of Business Administration), organized within the partnership between the West University of Timișoara (UVT) and the University of West London (UWL).
Representatives of the partner institutions will be present at the event. The UVT leadership will be represented by Prof. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, the UVT rector, and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration will be represented by its dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Claudiu Boțoc, along with professors and researchers from the humanities. The University of West London (UWL) will be represented by Mr. Peter John, President and Vice-Chancellor of UWL, and Mr. Suresh Gamlath, Pro Vice-Chancellor Business Development and Partnerships. During the meeting, the partner universities will make a general presentation of how the teaching activities of the first year of studies of this MBA (Master of Business Administration) program began, and His Excellency, Ambassador Giles Portman, will have a special intervention dedicated to academic diplomacy and Romanian-British university relations.
The new master's program debuted last fall, with the first group of students enrolled in the new MBA program this academic year. The program is a first in the region's academic space, being the only one of its kind in the region, aimed at middle management professionals with at least five years of professional experience, specialists who want to advance to senior management positions and/or change their careers, without the need for a significant interruption in their professional lives. All courses are held in Timisoara, and graduates are double certified, after completing the four semesters of study, with an MBA degree from UWL and a Master's degree from UVT. The disciplines are taught by experts from both academia and business, professors from WUT and UWL, as well as professionals from the private and public sectors.
