Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) within West University of Timisoara (UVT) celebrates National Culture Day through the effervescence of the 11 art galleries brought together within the UVT Cultural Hub.
On January 15, 2026, the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of the West University of Timisoara reaffirms its role as Strategic Cultural Hub of the city, marking National Culture Day not only as a moment of retrospective, but above all as a celebration of living creativity. Under the motto "Culture is not repeated, it is reinvented", FAD invites the community to discover a unique artistic ecosystem in the Romanian university environment.
The vital center of this hub is Platform 9 – an innovative curatorial concept that brings together the 9 active galleries within the institution. Each of these spaces is dedicated to a particular specialization, offering students and faculty a professional exposure laboratory, while serving as a meeting point for joint and interdisciplinary cultural projects.
In addition, during this year, the faculty's cultural map expands and diversifies through two new essential spaces:
- Small Gallery: a debut and experimental space dedicated exclusively to students, designed to encourage the initiative of the young artist on his path to fame;
- High School Students Gallery: a space for dialogue with the pre-university environment, where the talent of students from specialized high schools is highlighted, thus creating a vital bridge between future artists and the academic environment.
The rector of UVT, prof. univ. dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "To celebrate National Culture Day, UVT launches an open invitation to the community to visit the gallery circuit that operates under the coordination of the UVT Faculty of Arts and Design – a cultural network that functions as a faithful mirror of the artistic dynamism of Timisoara. From classical visual arts, to design and new media, culture is reinvented at FAD – UVT through each exhibition, workshop and joint event.”
