Beyond the heavy doors of workshops, where the smell of turpentine meets the noise of 3D printers and the rustle of textiles, the concepts that will define tomorrow's aesthetics are born today.
In this dynamic atmosphere, Faculty of Arts and Design from the West University of Timișoara (FAD-UVT) invites the general public to cross the threshold of this fascinating universe, Thursday, March 5, 2026, between 12:00 and 19:00, to participate in the artistic experiences proposed by the program "Open Studios".
The “Open Studios” event is not just a simple portfolio presentation; it is an immersive experience at the heart of the artistic process. For seven hours, the barrier between the audience and the creator disappears. Visitors will be able to take a winding path among easels, graphic presses and digital screens, discovering what the rigor and passion of contemporary art education truly means.
Prof. Dr. Diana Andreescu, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, UVT, emphasizes the importance of this open dialogue with society:
“Open Studios is more than just a visiting event for us; it is a statement of transparency and an invitation to knowledge. We want the city to see not only the final exhibition, but the intellectual and technical effort that underpins each artistic gesture. It is a moment in which we celebrate the expertise of our colleagues and, above all, the courage of the students to expose their working process to the community. Art is not an isolated product, but a living form of cultural leadership that has the power to inspire and shape the future.”
The event program reflects the dynamism of the FAD curriculum, covering the entire educational spectrum:
- From Fundamentals to Innovation: Students from undergraduate programs will present their explorations in visual language, while young people from master's degree programs will introduce the audience to more complex areas of artistic research and avant-garde concepts;
- Disciplinary Diversity: Workshops of all specializations will be open - from the tradition of Painting, Sculpture and Graphics, to the applicability of Design (Product, Graphic, Interior), Decorative Arts, Clothing-Fashion Design, Photo-Video or the demands of Conservation and Restoration.
The event is an open invitation to dialogue for future candidates, for professionals in the creative industries and for all those who want to understand how art responds to the challenges of the present.
