"Connect to the future", with physicist Cristian M. Teodorescu

We invite you to a new meeting in the "Connect to the Future" series, a fascinating dialogue on the border between science and imagination, where real discoveries meet the speculative universes of science fiction literature.

On December 10, from 17:00 PM, in the A01 amphitheater, we have as our guest Cristian M. Teodorescu, elite researcher, physicist, science fiction writer and one of the voices that most clearly explains how fiction and science influence each other.

What will we explore together?
• How science fiction literature shapes public perception of science and how its ideas are found, sometimes surprisingly, in real discoveries.
• To what extent does contemporary science "inspire" literature, become art, and contribute to the spread of knowledge.
• Examples of misinterpretations, scientific myths, and scenarios that have passed from fiction to the laboratory (and vice versa).
• Presentation of the concept of TIL – levels of technological inaccessibility, a classification that helps to understand the "hardness" of a SF work.
• Insights drawn from the lecturer's vast scientific and literary experience.

Cristian M. Teodorescu is a researcher with over 170 published articles, doctoral supervisor, multiple award winner and author of four volumes of science fiction literature, winner of Helion, Hobana and Vladimir Colin awards. A guest who authentically unites frontier science with speculative fiction.

The dialogue will be professionally moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Mădălin Bunoiu, Vice-Rector of UVT.

Participation is free, but please register in advance to reserve your place by filling out the form: https://forms.gle/h5CfqWDxcn9Qeqbk8
