The Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), in partnership with Ministry of Education, implements in this period a national research through two studies: National Student Questionnaire (CNS) and EUROSTUDENT, the deadline for completion being the date of January 18 2021.
The two studies aim to measure degree of student satisfaction regarding the quality of higher education, respectively students' living and study conditions.
National Student Questionnaire it is a study national, performed for the first time, on the degree of student satisfaction regarding the quality of higher education. This approach, by integrating the perspectives of students regarding the quality of the various educational components, responds to the need for systemic support for the increase in quality in higher education. The questions are grouped into several categories, such as university infrastructure, student representatives, learning resources, social services, teaching activity, assessment, communication and feedback, learning opportunities, organization of the educational process or academic support (more details are available HERE).
The EUROSTUDENT study it is a step european which aims to contribute to the establishment of national structures for monitoring the social dimension of higher education, with the participating countries having the opportunity to compare the data obtained and receive support in using the accumulated experience to analyze and improve their own higher education system. UEFISCDI coordinate for the fifth time, together with National Center for Education Policy and Evaluation – Education Research Unit, the national study on students' living and study conditions, which is being carried out simultaneously in 28 European states. The main topics addressed refer to the current situation and context of studies, living conditions, international mobility and the student's family situation (more details are available HERE). The EUROSTUDENT study is coordinated by Institute for Research on Higher Education (HIS-HF) from Germany.
All students enrolled in a higher education institution in Romania, state or private, regardless of the form of education or the form of funding of studies and what follows a bachelor's or master's degree program are invited to take part in these studies by completing the questionnaires by accessing THIS PLATFORM. All the answers are confidentially and will be used and processed for scientific purposes only. Personal data collected (Personal Numeric Code and email address) will not be stored and associated with some answers.
All the results obtained following the implementation of the CNS will be published, aggregated, at national level. The analysis and interpretation of the results, by categories and questions, will be published on the CNS platform. Next, the results will be capitalized in the form of an analysis accompanied by recommendations. Also, each higher education institution will receive a sheet with answers grouped by fields of study, accompanied by a brief analysis, to establish a set of measures, if they are required.
Regarding the study EUROSTUDENT, the research results will represent a detailed analysis of the living and study conditions of Romanian students. The analysis report will thus represent a fundamental support for decision-making regarding the higher education system as a whole. At the same time, the research results can be used by the participating universities to improve the quality of their services offered to students and to identify other ways of supporting students during their studies. The results of the analyzes will be published on study web page.
The Western University of Timișoara (UVT) encourages students to take part in this national research, by filling in the questionnaires, as their opinion can really contribute to increasing the quality of education.
The development of this approach can also be followed on the pages of Facebook and Instagram dedicated National Student Questionnaire. For any details or concerns, students can send an email to the address cns@uefiscdi.ro.
