The West University of Timișoara (UVT) marked the beginning of academic activities in the new academic year by Opening ceremony of the new academic year 2025-2026, a special celebration that was organized Friday, September 26, starting at 9 a.m. (in the "Ioan Curea" Aula Magna of UVT), which was attended by students, their families and loved ones, as well as academics, researchers and community figures invited to UVT.
La West University of Timişoara, the beginning of the academic year meant energy, culture and participation in the community. The opening ceremony of the new academic year was a moment of reference for the entire community, part of the "Welcome to UVT" Initiation Week program, the preparatory period for entering the new academic year dedicated to new students. The beginning of the year event was also broadcast live on the website UVT Facebook and it was a true moment of celebration, emotion and inspiration, alongside representatives of the UVT academic community, students, parents and trusted partners, which officially marked the start of the new academic year.
The opening day festivities of the academic year continued with the evening event, through the festival"UNIVIBES by UVT" – the 9th edition, where artists took to three stages, with Rock, Hip-Hop, DnB, Electro, Acoustic tunes, but also workshops, activities & relaxation areas, food & drinks.
On the occasion of "Univibes by UVT" 2025, we are back with a new edition of "Univibes Talks" dialogues, in which we proposed a different kind of meeting between Marcel Bostan, the voice of Alternosfera, the band with whom we celebrated the beginning of the new academic year at UVT, and the students of Timișoara. On Thursday evening, from 18:00 PM, an open dialogue with one of the most influential artists of Romanian alternative rock took place in the Aula Magna UVT.
At UVT, the newest students were dedicated to "Welcome to UVT" accommodation week, with a program that took place between September 22 and 28, 2025. During this week, first-year students enrolled in undergraduate university study programs discovered what student life actually means, how the university environment works, and what opportunities they have from this position. The extensive program of the Initiation Week at UVT included introductory and accommodation events, information sessions, counseling and orientation sessions in the university environment, tours of the city of Timișoara and visits to cultural institutions in the city, teambuilding activities, cultural events, conferences, debates, exhibitions, theater performances, film screenings, concerts, etc.
