Between May 1-3, 2026, Faculty of Law a West University of Timisoara (UVT) hosts one of the most prestigious international student law competitions of the European Union – Central and Eastern European Moot Competition (CEEMC). The competition, now in its 31st edition, is organized by Juris Angliae Scientia – The British Law Centre, in cooperation with the Court of Justice of the European Union, with the support of other European Union institutions, has Center for European Legal Studies from the University of Cambridge (UK) and the international law firm Clifford Chance.
The 2026 edition of the event will feature 15 teams from various European universities. Organizing the competition in Timișoara this year is a recognition of the performances of the teams from the Faculty of Law of Timișoara, which have been successfully participating in this competition for more than ten years, consistently qualifying for the semi-finals and occupying top places in the overall ranking.
The competition consists of a simulation of proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union. The jury members will include judges and advocates-general of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the General Court of the European Union, as well as other leading specialists in European law.
