The construction of the largest student dormitory in the country, a CNI investment for the students of the West University of Timișoara, as part of the UVT campus, starts at the beginning of this year. After the Government of Romania approved, in 2021, the investment project "Construction of student dormitory - West University of Timișoara, Renașterii str. no. 24B, Timișoara municipality, Timiș county", at the end of December 2021, the execution contract for this objective was signed.

The value of the investment is 138 million lei (plus VAT), of which 90 million lei is the construction component, with a completion period of 2 years. The appointed constructor is the company Concelex, which will execute the work according to a project made by Concrete & Design Solutions. The project includes the construction of a seven-level building (S+P+4E+E5 partially), with a constructed area of ​​4128 sq.m., with a capacity of 902 places in rooms for 2 people and 32 places for accommodation for people with disabilities, at to which 156 parking spaces for cars and 120 for bicycles are added, it will be the largest student dormitory in Romania. The proposed building will consist of 5 sections, the main bodies T1, T3 and T5 oriented longitudinally (NW-SE), and two transverse connecting bodies (T2 and T4), in the VE direction.

The new dormitory will substantially increase UVT's accommodation capabilities, adding over nine hundred places to existing capacities. Practically, UVT will develop, with the public financial support granted by the Government of Romania, a new student campus in Timișoara, in the area of ​​Renașterii Street. Timișoara will offer a new standard of living in the premises of the largest student dormitory in Romania, which is to enter the university circuit starting in the fall of 2024. The attractiveness of UVT and Timișoara, as a university city, will gain a significant advance through this investment.
