Biologists frozen at International Waterbird Census

The middle of every January is the time when we go out (with small, with large), to freeze together at the winter waterfowl count, an activity done by volunteers from all over the world.

Pișchia Pond awaited us with over 800 ducks of several species, geese, mergansers, coots, herons, egrets, and day and night raptors.

And obviously, lots of mud, frozen at – 50C.

But we came in a good mood, eager to work, and very, very fond of our profession, FIELD BIOLOGY.
